Has anyone had a Tummy Tuck or know anyone that has had one with Blue Cross Blue Shield/ or BCBS PPO Premium Plan or Basic Plan??

My current job is dropping our HMO Ins plan that I have and that's Bull-**** b/c they will pay for a TT now I will probably have to pay out of pocket b/c I thinking since its not a HMO even if they did I will have to pay a lot and I just don't have it....

I don't know anyone who has had one paid for by those insurances, so I can't help there.  Have you checked the coverages with the PPO?  You should call the carrier and see if it's covered with the new plans or if you can purchase a separate rider for that sort of thing.  Aside from that, I can give you a few suggestions:

(1) Tummy tucks (and plastic surgery in general) seem more affordable south of the border.  You might consider that.

(2) Try to put money away for it now.  I think you have to wait at least a year or something like that anyway, so you have a bit of time to save a little here and a little there.  Whatever you can muster will off-set the cost and be that much less that you have to try to finance (or pull out of your ass) later. :)

(3) Check with your surgeon's office.  Mine also offers tummy tucks (for $5,000) to patients.  Maybe they can refer you to a specific office that they work out deals with, or perhaps they even have someone in-house like that.

Good luck!

Most cover a Panni and not the full TT.  The coverage depends on your specific policy.  Mine covers it if you've had bariatric surgery, lost at least 100 lbs, and are 6 months out from the WLS.

What insurance covers that?  Any word on Kaiser coverage?

Call your insurance company, or any insurance you are considering and ask them.  It will vary not only company's company but policy to policy.

Nice!  Didn't know this- I will have to call the insurance and see what is an option.  I was just assuming that I would have to pay.
