I don't much about psych meds, but I do know that when my thyroid was effed up, I could gain 5+ lbs in a day - easily.
The thing about some meds, wacked hormones, effed up thyroids is that any of those things can cause massive water retention.
16 oz water/fluid = 1 lb 9x16= 144 oz of water retention (about what you drink in 1 day I'm guessing)
3500 calories = 1 lb 3500x9= 31,500 calories (ugh **** no. That ain't happening with our tummies, even if you drink all those caloris.)
There's is no way on this planet and with your small tummy that you ate that much food.
This is gonna freak you out, but I suggest you DON'T do exercises for a few days. Lay flat on a couch and drink water. Exercising can make you retain more water.
I know you already know all of this. But, it's good to have someone else say it.
Also, get your skinny ass into a doctor, TODAY. Tell them you are broken and that you are not leaving the office until they fix you.
*hugs* Let us know how things turn out.

I have an appointment tomorrow with the psych doc - im going to tell him to commit my ass!!!
I went to my doc a couple weeks ago because I've been feeling "off" - I dont know what's wrong - nothing major is sending any alarms but Ive just been generally not feeling quite right. That was the only reason I agreed to try these stupid psych meds because the doctor convinced me it was all in my head...but 8 weeks later, and nothing has changed...except my weight lol.

I stopped my psych meds in January and am down 50 pounds with hard work since then. They told me 2/09 that I needed to continue them for one year so I felt safe to stop them 3 years later when weight gain was what was depresing me.
The SIL who is a pharm said that a lot of psych meds cause weight gain. Read your info sheet for side affects.

I have a family member who has taken several psych drugs for years. Wellbutrin was one of the drugs she took. She gained at least 60 lbs when she started taking them (about 5 years ago) and weaned herself off starting about 6 months ago. She has effortlessly dropped about 40 lbs and is still losing.
Her eating really hasn't changed, just the drugs. Actually I think Wellbutrin is one that isn't supposed to increase your weight (bloating is mostly what it is) but I don't know for sure. Ask your doc - and take care.

You are doing everything right. It is NOT your calories or your exercise.
My money is on that damn chicken broth, and I don't know where you are at hormonally... but I can easily gain 5 pounds overnight with PMS bloating. (which can also make one more emotional than usual).
Really, the only way to gain 9 pounds like you described is fluid retention. There is no way that is real way gain. Absolutely no way. The 2.5% increase in body fat? Well, the scale isn't smart enough to tell the difference between fluid retention and fat - it conducts similarly. So just ignore that number for now.
If you think this could be due to a side effect of the wellbutrin, definitely call your doctor. They can let you know what to do.
In the meantime, drink lots and lots of water. It's counter-intuitive, but being ultra hydrated can help with fluid retention.
