...low blood sugar with sweats, dizziness, vision, or higher heart rate??...Mine was recorded at 2.2 at work today. Hopefully it won't be an ongoing thing. It's happened a few times!!

Ive been having dizzy/.lightheaded issues for months now and ive been wondering about low blood sugar. How do you test your blood sugar? Do you have to have one of those testing kits where you poke your finger?

No Alison, not personally. I work in health care and have access to one. But, thinking about getting one.

I forgot to say, a small glass of orange juice brought it back up to normal within a half hour!

I'm only three weeks post-op, but I had a lot of the same problems you were having and it turned out to be orthostatic hypotension. I'd keep on eye on your blood pressure as well as blood sugar.

Donna, I've been hypoglycemic since 3-4 months post-op. My lowest has be a 53 and my PCP said you can actually have convulsion at 50 or below. Very scary!!

I have found mine is very easily controlled. I eat every 2-3 hours without fail. I also keep some almonds with me just in case I'm out and about during the time I need to eat. It has "saved" me a couple of times.

I was diabetic pre-op so I had all the glucose testing supplies on hand so mine was easy to diagnose. It can be a very serious condition but it can be easily controlled, in most cases.

My BS drops dramatically during exercise so I've also learned to eat prior to exercise as well. I also try not to eat a high carb only meal/snack. I eat something protein everytime I eat.

Hopefully you find the resolution to the issue soon! It really seems like I see more and more of these type posts.
