A little Heartattack, but resolved! (little long)
Okay, I had my last appointment yesterday to get the last of the questions answered and sign my life away. Then got myself pre-admitted and the last blood work done.
Today, the hospital called to let me know how much the bill will be for the day of surgery per my insurance. "Well, you have so much left of your deductible so it will be $4900!"
WHAT?!? Okay, heartattack starting!
I hung up with the hospital, put the kleenex down and got back on the phone with the surgeon's office and then the insurance company. Even the insurance company said that I should only need to pay the last $1400 of my deductible and the balance (no more than $2600) can be billed after and you can work on a payment plan then.
Called the hospital back. Explained what the insurance said, "so my deductible is $2400 and I have paid this much already..."
"$2400? We have $5000?"
"UM Uh, NO!" They called the insurance company themselves after this.
"Okay, so you have $1400 due at surgery day and the balance of $1000 can be done afterwards."
(((Ding Ding Ding)))) I think we have a winner!
So, we are officially set and ready to go. I have the plan that I need to follow starting tomorrow (10 days out****il I get there and what to expect afterwards. Finally! I am not nervous at all about the surgery, but if things like this keep happening...that could change!
