ATL friends

I'm all ready to go to Atlanta in October for the OH Conference -

I'm going to be spending a week there so I am looking for ideas of things to do - I'd like to explore a little (I will have a rental car for a couple days) outside of Atlanta - maybe within a 3-4 hour drive since I've never been to GA or anywhere in the South.

We should plan a date pretty soon for a meet-up so I know what plans to make. I think I'd prefer Friday night or Sunday.

Hey Girl! I can def give you some pointers. I think we all said the meetup could be Friday night since there's a convention event Sat night. I'm looking for someone to help me organize this one. I will be on vacation for ten days leading up to this event so I need another Georgia peach to plan this one. I cannot wait to meet and talk with you Alison!

MoonGlo82, you are a great organizer, can you or Elaine run prime on this event??!

I can't take the lead on this one (horrid work schedule) but you know I'll help whomever as much as possible. Besides---you all need someone young , hip , trendy , in-the-know,  to find a spot---that's not me. The only place I know is SHOUT at Colony Sq. (14th and Peachtree) but I thought the general location would be central for everyone. Wherever, a Fri night will need an RSVP asap.

Ro, I will put this together.  I'll probably still need some of your expertise, but with the help of Sonjakp, Cozmo, and Gamom, and whoever else wants to help, I'm sure we can put something great together!

I think the Friday night thing would work better for a bigger meetup, but there's no reason why we couldn't make plans to go out for drinks or whatever Saturday night as well if enough people are interested.  I'll post a thread tomorrow looking for opinions, to see who all is interested, etc. 

I'm super excited!  October can't get here soone enough! :)

Thanks so much for all your help! I was thinking that maybe Saturday would be a better day for a meetup. People can meet up around the hotel and then we could actually just use the party/dance there at the conference for our get together and we can all do the fashion show if we want! :)  If we do a Friday meetup and get rooms Friday night, we'll all have to check out by 11, etc. Kristen and i are sharing a room on Saturday night so we can get there all day and meet up early then get all dressed up that evening for the events.  But if others can meetup on Friday as well then cool, too!  I'll just be able to be there on Saturday.

I also love the idea of Stone Mountian. I know Alison would love it there because it is so outdoorsy and the laser show, etc. I will PM her and see if maybe I can meet her there during the week and hang out with her and of course whoever else wants to attend. I don't think they'll still be doing the laser shows at night in Oct, IDK...? I'll have to check that out.

Side note, we could plan for a night on the town after the fashion show since we will all be dressed up. Thoughts?
