This morning I weighed in at 257. Good bye 260's. This is 20lbs one since returning home from my surgery, 44lb loss from my highest weight in April. It feels good. People at church are just starting to notice.
But I am not doing well on my protein or water intake. I am trying to get all my protein from foods instead of shakes. It just isn't working. So I will restart my post op diet by doing 2 shakes a day, then having a "regular" dinner (usually ricotta bake) with the family.
I also have been slacking on my exercise. It has been really HOT here in Vegas. So just the thought of exercise is nauseating. But when the scale doesn't move in the right direction I know I need to take action. I am thinking of getting some of Billy Blank's dvds. I can do them at home in the air conditioning. Yeah!!! My local YMCA offers tai chi that I really enjoyed pre op. I am going to start that again too.
Anyhoos...thanks all who post here. I get great advice and I get to see that others are just like me. We have ups & downs - scale wise and diet. But I praise God for the gift of my sleeve. Its cool to hear my husband say I eat like a bird!!!

We had the same surgery date! I agree ... right now it's just too difficult to not use shakes. My plan calls for me to "start" trying to get all the protein from food. But I do find on those few days when I have no shakes, I just can't make the protein number. So I wouldn't worry about using the shakes right now. I know that will get better as we can get a little more food in.

As far as water, keep trying on that one -- especially with all the heat. I'm doing fine on water. And you're certainly not alone in Vegas. The whole country has had unbelievable heat this summer. So do what you can. I have found the exercise has made a major impact on my energy levels and I'm feeling great.

I'm down 15 lbs since surgery -- I know many folks would be unhappy with that and feel like it's not enough, but I'm very pleased with my results. I had also lost 20 from February to July. So feeling great!

Good luck.

We have the same date too! I am 32 lbs from my highest June weight. I am having a heck of a time getting my protein through food alone too. I'm starting to have shake aversion and I really really don't want to have that. I know I need the shakes for protein. Yesterday, I could only get 1/2 a shake down. I'm trying harder on my liquids...using Crystal Light which has helped a lot. I only swim at this point and not intense, just floating and playing with 6 yr old mainly. Waiting for cooler weather too!

Ladies have you tried Beneprotein? Search it on Amazon. It is protein with no flavor. It can be added to almost anything without changing the texture or tast. It works great. Good luck to you all!
