So about this being cold all the time thing...

Ive been sitting here contemplating some kind of medical intervention today...(slightly joking of course)

I cannot warm up. It's usually like this M-F - the AC is soooo cold in my building that I literally freeze all day. When I can, I stay huddled up next to my heater in my office, burrying myself under layers of jackets and sweaters, but even then...I can't get warm enough to focus!!!

I work in the middle of a desert...it shouldnt be this hard to get warm! I go out on my lunch breaks to sit in my car which is always 100+ degrees inside (today its 100 degrees outside!) and just sit there with no AC, windows up lol. In a jacket. You can only imagine the comments and stares from people :-p

Is there some medical explanation as to why my internal thermostat seems to be non existant!? I am on a beta blocker (causes my resting pulse to be between 49-51 and really low BP) which Ive been reading might be related? I have no idea.

I know we get cold easily but this is crazy. It makes drinking a protein shake and iced coffee very difficult (because then im certaintly going to freeze lol).

So if all else fails, I need a tropical destination where it's hot year round. I'll start packing tonight. Suggestions??

Oh my goodness!! I didnt know anyone else was feeling this way! Im freezing all the time.  My fingernails turn blue and my HR drops too!  I am right now sitting in my room drinking iced coffee and shivering (but it is so worth it...lol)  I thought it was from the weight loss.  Have 100 less pounds of fat to keep me warm...lol.  But I am usually more cold than my tiny friends so not sure if that makes sense.  I used to be hot all the time and I cant decide which way I like it more...

If you figure out the answer, let me know! This winter was really mild for Indiana but I thought I was dying all winter long. And even now, in the middle of summer I still get cold when it's no where near cold outside!

I maintain that hot tea is the only reason I've survived without freezing to death thus far.

No idea on the vitals, just had a visit last week and pulse is resting 60, 110/70. I freeze though, have since I lost a significant chunk of weight. I highly recommend silk long underwear.. it's thin, layers easy, and you can get it for diff temp ratings.. I live in these things when I have to deal with turbo-charged a/c. That and screaming hot tea, all day long!

I've read about this often, and am also curious about cause. I have surgery on 8/17. I live in Florida, and just had to turn my a/c up to 82 to keep from shivering. If I'm cold now... I am going to have to buy my new, smaller wardrobe in fleece! Must make note to ask the surgeon at my pre-op meeting.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different result.  It's time to try something new!

And here I thought moving to Cali meant no one would ever need a homemade crocheted blanket again.  Let me get to work on yours!

LOL with this group of friends - we'll all be needing blankets.
