Weekly Challenge - setting goals
Ive been messaging with a few people, and I get a lot of messages wanting to know how I have managed to lose a lot of weight and stay focused for so long.
While I am very far from your "poster child" WLS patient, one thing as most of you know that keeps me going is goal setting. From talking to a couple people this weekend, I'm always surprised to learn that some people have no goals other than to lose weight (by X date, X lbs, etc, for vacations, for weddings, basically all about the scale).
While I tend to be generally focused on fitness, exercise, and all that - that's only a small area where we can set goals.
So, here's a challenge to everyone. List your goal for the week. Spend some time thinking about what you need to improve on, and set a plan for how you are going to do it. I am very curious to see what people come up and the thought behind it. Im hoping a lot of you will participate - especially if you are struggling with the scale. It helps to focus on something other than the scale.
So to start, after I did some reflecting yesterday, I decided I need to reduce my portion sizes as I noticed they are starting to grow (unnecessarily). So that's what I'm working on this week (as well as other stuff). Last night, I did all my cooking for the week, and when I was packing it up, I stuffed a little less food into my containers :)
Your turn - and I'll check in maybe mid week and see how everyone's doing.

You know this is a really good idea...
1: to go back to the gym this week
2: drink more water less crap starting today
3: resist more stuff patients families drop off (cookie platters, half cakes) it's ridiculous
4: trot back and forth to answer call bells again

Have you thought about a plan on how to get more water in and how to resist the temptations?

welllll the plan to resist temptation was foiled already . I have a refillable mug i use at work so instead of using juice or non water items i'm going to use water.
I want to know what you are planning and when so I can make sure you do it !

Thank you for the reminder. This is what we are taught to do in the weight management program that I had to participate in to be given surgery in Alberta. My surgery is on Thursday so here are my goal:
1. Stick to then Ensure HP diet, NO cheating becuase of nerves
2. Drink 3 litres of water a day.
3. Do not be a slave to the scale (I have been weighing myself several times a day)!
4. Do 1 active thing for fun
