Hahaha, thats why I made it a 5 day challenge to begin with and not an all out ban.

Ive been thinking of trading my daily starbuck habit for a once a week small treat before my long runs because it's been one of the top treats that really gives me enough energy to get through...so yesss to starbucks and then a run :)

Allison - you constantly amaze me with your wisdom and your strength. Takes guts to start counseling; I know - I have tried several times and not stuck with it. I cannot believe the amount of physical hard stuff that you do. You are "Wonder Woman"!

Congratulations on moving forward and setting goals!!! I had to chuckle about the Starbuck's habit. I developed a habit for Skinny SF Vanilla lattes. I always included them in my calories and carbs for the day. Didn't hurt my weight loss, but I went from a Tall to a Grande, and found myself sometimes, having 2 /day. I did cut back to one/day and a Tall. I even stayed away from them for about a month, but added back the one in the AM and decreased the size to a Tall. Seems to be working. If you can do the moderation thing, it may work for you.

I admire the HARD work that you are putting into this. You are a success and an inspiration to those to have gone ahead of you and to those, who are coming behind you!!!

Alison , I love reading your posts. I find them very encouraging. I have been in a stall for the past month, and I realize that I have st oped counting all my cal. and all the coffee I have been drinking at work with half and half are probably contributing to it. That and not getting enough sleep.
Keep up the great works.

Therapy can be great or icky or in-between.  It matters a lot whether you click with your shrink.  If you aren't clicking (and it can take a couple of times to know - unless you instantly can't stand each other!), maybe they'll let you interview some other acceptable replacements.

As for coffee, what I've been doing is brewing a pot of decaf in the morning and setting it off the burner.  Then I make iced coffee in the afternoon with almond milk, and sometimes some Soy Slender.  I'm spending 60-100 calories this way (depending on how much I drink), but it carries me all through the afternoon and without a bad hit on the carbs because of the almond milk.  I've been thinking about cutting them out to get my total calories under 800, but can't decide if it's worth it.  Coffee is definitely a wonderful gift to human kind!!

Good for you!!!! You know, you're the reason I renewed my gym membership and got back on the workout routine. I figured if you can lose 200 pounds and hike 10000 miles, i can drag my arse a few blocks to the gym and run or something.

I joined an OA weight loss group a few months back and didn't like it. I switched to a Chrstian church based group and didn't like it. I'm considering one on one. Let me know (in general terms of course) how effective you find it. I don't want another expense that doesn't result in anything (like the nut) or I'm just a bit scared.
