Had an amazing moment tonight

I love your post! I've had to learn to love myself - flaws and all. I will never be an athlete due to physical limitations, but I am greatful that I can now do things that I could not before, simple things like using my rolator walker for mile long walks (previously could not even walk one block). We all have to learn to look at ourselves with new eyes, to not see the person we were, but the person we are or the individuals we are becoming. We have to change our perceptions of ourselves, we have been so used to that fat person that we were that we cannot wrap out minds around that slim person in the mirrow who now looks back at us. Just the changes in going to buy clothing, which for me is ongoing because I am still losing weight, is hard to wrap my mind around. You have done such a wonderful job! I love reading your posts, your journey has been amazing and it is an inspiration to those of us still going through ours. Thank you for sharing and caring enough to include us!

Allison - you are such an inspiration! And I am so happy that you are coming out of the funk and focusing on fitness. You have lost so much and in the photos you already look great. But feeling good about yourself is even more important. I am constantly impressed with all of the exercise you do and the way you forge on even with your constipation issues, etc. I am so pleased that you had this great evening and that you chose to share it with us.

Thanks for the huge dose of inspiration! I so needed that! I'm so glad that you enjoyed your class but what's most important is that you are loving yourself, flaws and all. None of us are perfect and it's important to remember that! Your success is the kind that so many people only dream of. You are making your dreams come true! Absolutely amazing...

I love this post. I was smiling and felt like crying at the same time. What a gift WLS has been. I always find your posts inspirational and motivating. I am further out from you, but have experienced similar feelings regarding the ability to be a more fit person and relishing the ability to move more, and to enjoy a tough workout. Congratulations on changing your body and soul. Fist bump here.

Your post brought tears to my eyes. I wasn't heavy in HS so I can only imagine the burden of gym class when one is heavy but I can relate to the being scared to try new things. My weight has kept me from living for 20 years. It's burdened my children, my husband and mostly MYSELF.

I feel the same as you about feeling FREE. I am not to goal yet and I had an ugly experience swimsuit shopping today but your post makes me want to change my perspective. Thank you so much for sharing. {hugs} to you! Congrats on your achievements!
