If you don't want a creamy protein drink, try the Syntrax flavors that are fruity.  They mix well with water and ice. I think you can buy a sample pack of them from www.netrition.com  Although I don't know what sweetener they use.  I don't mind sucralose so I never paid attention.

Isopure is close to the top of the list of the nastiest things Ive ever put in my mouth and ive eaten a lot of nasty foods.

I did find a "clear" liquid option that was more palatable - it was a tangerine flavor of Cytomax...nutritionally similar to isopure, and I was able to get in 2 bottles a day for the first 3 days post op and havent touched it since. I wouldnt drink it unless I absolutely had to but it was much better than the isopure.

That, exactly!~ I found a bottle of the Cytomax kicking around my pantry yestereday and took it on my run with me, it wasn't bad ice cold with TONS of ice in it, but otherwise I will stick with my Syntrax.

I first had these in the hospital & they were the only way I could get my protein in at all in the beginning!
Vitamin Shoppe does have a better price than GNC I think, but as previously said we are all different with different tastes. I had given up all artificial sweetners, but when trying to find a protein I could get down I used them without any problems or side effects. I loved the grape & there is a pineapple flavor that was good to me too!

ONLY because they are 40G protein per 20 ounce will I try the juice version of the isopure... I wont even bother with the powders...for 6 months TOPS... if I can even take it that long... I just do not want sucralose in my body but I NEED to get this weight off...

I have the samples of Syntax Nectar... trying those out this week too... so I can stock up on whatever I think my tummy can take post-op

Isopure was the biggest waste of money and energy ever.  Nastiest stuff I've ever had in my life. I chocked it down yesterday. but I just could not handle it. I'd rather starve. Seriously.

I am approaching surgery, and trying to be "prepared", I went to the Vitamin Shoppe and bought a bottle of the Alpine Punch Isopure drink. It was a little cheaper than yours was. ($4.19 for the 20 oz. bottle)  I chilled it and tried it that evening.  I really did not like it and can not fathom drinking any flavor!  The sales person did say the grape flavor was popular, so I may buy that flavor to try it.  From what I understand, this will be my protein source for the 1st week post op.  I also purchased a bullet of liquid protein, and it is more viscous than the Isopure.  There is absolutely no way I can drink the bullet!  I only took one tiny sip and gagged and gagged! What to do?  I have to find a protein for the clear liquid week post op!! Any one with solutions, they are welcomed!!

I am a big Isopure Plus fan.  They come in 8 ounce bottles, 60 cals a pop and 15 grams of protein.  Drinks like koolaid to me and none of the nasty string foulness Usaf mentioned.  Subscribe and save is convenient from Amazon.

I also use Special K strawberry kiwi powder (individual packets) but usually I have to be desparate.  That mixes up and makes chunky water, much to the disgust of my fifth grade students!  But, it keeps me from eating crap food sometimes so chunky water it is.

I cut each bottle with 32 ounces of Power aide Zero, they taste like any other 'power' drink that way. BTW I can't stand the apple melon, either.

I tried so hard to drink the Isopure RTDs, but I just couldn't. They gave me a gaggy feeling in my throat and I found myself coughing up strings of mucus like crap.

The alpine punch flavor for some reason comes in a zero carb version with 160 cal and a carby version. Confusing.
