Quest Bars? Dont Understand
A good deal of the carbs/fiber confusion has to do with understanding (or not) biology/chemistry/digestion/metabolism.
Fiber is listed under carbs on food labels, which confuses many people. But fiber is not the same as sugar, and it doesn't do even close to the same thing in your body.
There are two types of fiber - a kind that is digestible and a kind that is not digestible.
Fiber doesn't cause blood sugar to spike. In fact, soluble fiber lowers blood sugar. Fiber also lowers cholesterol and reduces risk of heart disease. (Mayo Clinic reference: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/fiber/NU00033/)
There is no reason to be afraid of it on your weight loss journey. And there is no reason to count it as a carb. Jus****ch out for foods that have fiber but also have alot of carbs.

As for Quest bars - the cheapest place to get them is online.
www.questproteinbar.com is the official website. You can also get them on amazon, as someone else said. Or if you have a Vitamin Shoppe around you and just want to try one or two, they sell them there as well.
Personally, I think they are just edible, not amazing food that I have the urge to eat all the time (versus say a Clif bar). I eat them because it is an easy breakfast option that allows me to get a decent amount of protein and fiber in the AM. I have one for breakfast maybe 3-4 days/wk, and always have one in my purse in case I get stuck without a good food choice somewhere. They take me a long time to chew up and eat and are very filling for me. I usually end up with a bite or two left. They are also better after 8-10 seconds in the microwave. They are the only protein bar that I eat.
That said, I know for some people they are sliders and craveable. My mom (not a WLS patient) ate THREE in one day before. She asked me if she needed to worry about eating too much protein, and I said nooo, but all that fiber in one day on the other hand...

Quest is a SoCal company, so if you order direct from them you should get them in a day or two at most. I get a lot of things from Amazon as well, but get the Quest bars direct from Quest as they have been very reliable.
The whole total vs. net carb thing is really just a brain vs. body thing - some of the total carb advocates are in love with one fiber supplement or another because the label doesn't list it as being a carb, so their brain is happy as they don't have to count it as a carb since it's not on the label, and their body is happy to get the fiber. It's a win-win for them. I avoided the whole issue by not getting worried about carbs at all and just concentrating on basic nutrition.
