Your surgery was in April?  At that stage a hotdog wouldn't have sat well with me.  I would go for hamburger- no bun with cheese on top.  I was good with ground beef at that time.

I know how you feel. I was invited to one 2 weeks ago. I brought with me my lunch box. left it in the car and  ask to see if they had chicken. I was the only one had the chicken. the bad thing is was a big piece. I'm only at the 2 oz stage now.

I tried to copy and past over from MFP but I keep getting hung up.

Kirkland Beef Hotdog---170 cals; 2 carb; 8 protein
Ground Beef (85/15) 3 oz---230 cals; 0 carbs; 22 protein

Just based on the numbers, I would do the burger. Based on taste, BURGER. But I would add a little slice of cheese.--no bun for either.

I am 5.5 months out. I was at a BBQ today. From about 12-5 I had

2 strawberries
4 cherries
1 small piece raw broccoli
1 cherry tomato
6 small shrimp
1/2 BBQ hamburger patty with a little mustard

298 calories. 7g carbs. 19g protein
I tried half a hotdog a month ago Yuck. Go for the burger

I didn't want to eat beef prior to 6 months out but I've found in some instances, it's impossible, especially if you're out living your life.

I'd definitely go for the burger. I choose whatever can get me the most protein with the smallest amount. I still only eat about 2oz of meat per meal.

it depends if the burgers look dry I choose the hot dog, whichever seems more appealing at the moment I guess. burgers grilled out are too big for me most of the time(sometimes even the hot dog is too big) but the burger is better for you(hot dog has high sodium)

Even at 13 months out, hotdogs don't always agree with me. I think it's the casing - sausage is basically out all together.

Go, nibble on a burger or whatever you feel like. Talk to everyone. I find I carry a lot of the conversations these days when eating out

By 4 months out, I was able to eat anything...but I would think that beef is definitely a better protein choice than a hot dog...but definitely no bun, and teeny, tiny bites and chew chew chew :)

If you can grilled chicken. I use grab a wing. Otherwise, I would get half a cheeseburger no bun or 1/2 of a bun.
