I think if you are going to be large, then be happy about it. Maybe it's Denial? Or maybe she really doesn't mind being big? It does sound like she's defending being big but society does frown on it and maybe she feels the need to justify it?

She sounds young. As my grandma used to say... "Keep a liv'n!!"

When I was younger, I went through a period when I had a simular mind set. I was "happy" just as I was. Now I know those thoughts were just another way of saying I give up.

Oh my...I have of these kind of people on my friend list. I think this person may want to lose weight and can't and they are to afraid to get wls surgery, its easier to give up on a hard journey to a better life than being brave and risking ur life by getting wls to work hard to get ur control back over ur life. I am not ashamed of getting wls but for reasons like this I choice not to tell everybody...pray for ur friend because how could anyone being faced with so many family history medical conditions be ok with their lifestyle. True God will call us home when ever He wants but while we wait why not have a good quality of life I'm sure He wants that for us too. Stay encouraged.
