An Example of the Sleeve's Effectiveness
My group told me of some guy who ate a whole can of CORN 3 days post op and had to be rushed into surgery .. he never told them he had eaten the corn .. to their surprise when they saw it all in his sleeve (which ruptured) in his abdominal cavity where it had leaked through and down in his intestines .. he nearly killed himself and had like 3 surgeries trying to get all that corn out of his body.

Gardenburgers and their ilk were on my plan at that point, though I never went there (have never been much for fake food). I did try out a Chipotle soft taco, less the tortilla, in that first month someplace, with everything in plan and was well tolerated, but that was also consistent calorically with a nominal meal then, too. A 500 cal hamburger is a day's worth of calories for many here (and about half of my daily allotment then,) so that's someplace I wouldn't go. An In 'N' Out protein style (no bun, lettuce wrapped) cheeseburger is 330 cal but I didn't get to trying tone of those for several months.

Honestly, I am pretty damn sure I could have eaten that much at 2 weeks, and been able to knock down a burger. My sleeve is and always has been made of iron apparently. But to the OP, just because you can does not make it safe. Deal with your head hunger issues, make sound nutritional choices, and the sleeve will work. Otherwise, your just gonna be a fat OP with a tiny sleeved stomach in a year. I really do want you to succeed. Bust out the protein shakes and behave!

But if this is real, I'll just piggy back on the other posters, there are so many things wrong with this. A lot of which has been stated already, but I wanted to add that bread, pasta, and rice being put into a healing stomach is one of the worst ideas ever. Those foods continue to expand when they're in your stomach and could cause some really serious damage. Back up the truck a little bit here. Or a lotta bit, lol.

Wow! This is not the reaction I expected when I started this thread. While I sincerely thought that what I did today was a big step forward, the concern voiced by so many of you has caused me to rethink my diet at this point. I'm going to go back to soft and stay there until my Dr. tells me to move into the normal diet phase. I really do want to build on my early success and continue toward the goals I have set for myself. I have tolerated foods so well that I never considered the risk of a leak or rupture so long as I didn't stuff my stomach. I do appreciate all the genuine concern shown by those who have responded to my thread. However, based on some of the comments made, I think it's entirely possible that my surgeon left me with a larger stomach than some of you (if such a small amount of food filled you up). Thanks again for all your comments.
Your nerve endings haven't healed yet. You might not be getting the full effect of what feeling full feels like... yet another reason why eating solids right now is so dangerous.
Also, the bread (the bun and the fries) might be sliders for you, which means they won't fill you up... so you're cramming more in there than you actually need, which works against your weight loss, even after you are cleared for solids.
