My neighbor said she gets up at 4:30am and goes walking shes got a lot to lose as well but hasn't had surgery. I told her I would start MondayShe does 12 miles a day... I'm eating just about anything w/ in my 4oz except salad, rice, bread, pasta. How about you??
What are you doing for exercise and eating?
Thanks Jennifer

Hi Jennifer. I was sleeved on April 16th. To date I have lost 57 lbs (that includes my opti weeks as well). I am eating basically what you are, but I do have salad once a week...it is mostly veggies and chicken with hardly any lettuce.
As far as exercise, I walk daily with my two beautiful dogs. I walk approximately 45 min's at a good pace. I am currently looking into water arobics (sp). I feel great and my undergarments are too big lol.
Enjoy the ride girl

Hi Jenn!
I had surgery on 04/03, got my band taken out and had my stomach sleeved!
I am losing slow. 20 lbs so far. Partly my fault, and party because I didn't have a lot to lose, and also because I am a slow loser, period.
I have eaten off plan more than I care to admit. However, I have rocked my sleeve this week and actually saw the scale move downwards a tad! Yay, me!!
I have been back at the gym the last few weeks, with AnnMarie, and we are doing well there. So, things are going well.
Good for you, for taking your neighbor up on her offer!! I can tell you, having an exercise buddy can be a great thing. There are some days that I leave work and think of the things I need to accomplish at home and how tired I am, but I drive straight to the gym because I know AnnMarie will be there waiting for me. Neither one of us wants to be the flakey one! ha ha ha

Hi. I'm very happy with being sleeved on 4/24/12.
My loss is 40+ (only check in on Sundays). All post-op (since I wasn't required to do a pre-op diet for revision).
I make many of the "shelly's bites" recipes and find them very tasty and filling. I stick to high protein but eat what I want (and my wants are much different post-surgery than they were pre-surgery). Without even trying my carbs stay below 40 daily.
Exercise is primarily walking on the bike path. Tried to get into an aqua zumba class for summer but it was full - so a friend and I are making up our own aqua-exercise weekly in her backyard pool. Also started beginning strength training program as prescribed by the exercise psychologist in my surgeons program.
Great post and great to hear how we all are doing !!

I was sleeved on 4/19. This morning I hit 50 lbs lost. I'm completely stoked about it. I haven't had trouble eating things but I measure it out to make sure I'm not over eating my sleeve. I do have salad probably twice a week w/ lots of protein. I was doing almost just protein but I felt so funny. My body was demanding the veggies.
Exercise. *Sighs* Yeah, I need to step that up. I have severe social anxeity. I can go to the gym with my fiancee no problems. But twice now I've tried to go alone and I get there and my chest tightens. So I drove back home. I need to get over it but I just can't. Working on that with my therapist.
I have been walking a ton. LOL We go shopping for nothing constantly so I can do tons of walking in stores. I also do Zumba on the Xbox and Wii games w/ the kids. So I've gotten stuff in but not near as much as I had planned for.

I was sleeved on April 24th. I've lost 59 lbs. I've been lifting once or twice a week and getting some cardio in on top of that.
My surgeon doesn't really dictate much in the way of dietary restriction (now that I'm beyond 6 weeks out). He wants me to avoid pasta, bread, and sugar (avoid, not eliminate). I haven't had any pasta, but I've had just a little bread. I'm mainly eating protein which is just fine for me, but nothing is completely "off limits".
I quit caffeine in January and stopped carbonated beverages at the end of March, and now I don't miss either.
I stalled last week very likely due to some poor dietary choices last weekend, but I'm back to losing again.

You guys are doing so well! Melly, I'm with you, in the camp of slower losers. I've lost about 25 lbs. since my surgery date (4/23), 43 lbs. since the beginning of the year, and 51.5 since my all time high in February 2011.
I've had no problems with foods and stick with about 80g protein and less than 40g carbs each day. Drinking all the water I should has been a struggle but I'm doing better. The thing I really need to work on is exercise. Walking when I can is good but it's not enough. I need to get disciplined and make time. No excuses here--it is what it is and I have to find a way to just do it.

Mine was 4/5... I'm @ 50 also (65 since 2/6)... I usually do just protein, but a few times have have bread (last wknd we went to the beach and I had a couple bites of funnel cake :-P ) I joined golds gym a couple wks ago and am going atleast 3 times/ wk... do 15 mins on the elliptical some weights for about 20 mins then another 15 on the elliptical... hoping that will speed my loss up a little :-)
12 miles/day is ALOT! Good luck :-) u can do it... even if it takes u a little while to work up to it :-)

I was sleeved on 4/9 and I have lost close to 50 lbs now. I havent weighed myself in a while. I do Zumba for an hour 2 times a week and on the other days I go jogging or walking. I need to step up the excerising a little bit more. I am get my water and my protein in most days. The one thing i really need to work on is planning the meals at home more. I think I do an ok job but it could be better. I really dont do any breads or pastas anymore. They seem to not do well anymore.
