Good on you!

Sometimes just making that call is one of the hardest step. Showing up and getting through that first appointment is the next. ;)

and...don't be afraid to therapist shop if you don't feel like you are getting what you need. Sometimes it takes a while to find a good fit. You need someone who will challenge you, but yet listen at the same time. and after a while, you may outgrow your therapist and need a new one.

I understand how hard it must have been to make that appointment, and you should be so proud just to have done that.  I know I should be in therapy (for a multitude of reasons), and it's going to be super-duper hard to make that call myself.  I really hope that the therapy helps you out!  And if it really just doesn't do anything for you, hey, at least you tried it.  It's all about working to improve your situation, right?  Just getting out of your comfort zone to try something is huge - good for you!  I'm not surprised at all, though.  Just reading the things you post tells me that you've worked damn hard, and so it's no surprise that you're willing to do every little thing you can.  Very proud of you! :)

I wish you the best of luck!

I'm not a sharing person either... and I'm not a crier... I don't get overly emotional.  But DAMN, therapy is really helping me with my food issues.  I wouldn't be this far along with out it.  Now, it's not a magic pill.  And it ain't easy.  And I leave some therapy sessions more pissed/frustrated than when I walked in.  But I feel like it's been really helpful overall.  GOOD FOR YOU for doing this.  It's truly a gift to yourself.  Good luck!
