Help constipated
Start with a stool softener but make sure you are extra vigilant with getting fluids in because you need a lot of fluid with those.
MIralax is probably a good option too - milk of mag does NOTHING for me (miralax doesnt either but I take a rx version of it and that works)
If you need immediate relief (ie 5+ days with no BM) - you can consider a stimulant laxative or suppository, but those should be used infrequently (and prepare for cramps like you can't believe).
Im a year out and still never resolved that issue ...ugh.

You may consider adding a regular fiber supplement if its common. Fubercon is good. Same ingredient in Miralax, but in pill form.
Be careful of non-fiber based laxatives. IF you over use them you can untrain your bowels and develop a dependence on them.
