How can I -

Lose weight and go from being overweight back to obese??

Because apparently, I shrunk an inch.

Had my year follow up - last year, was measured at 5'10. This is what I have been using to calculate my BMI.

This year - measured at 5'9. And my weight today at the doc... - 205, normally makes me in the overweight category, but not today - today, i'm back to being obese.

I was a little irritated, but as my friend pointed out, i've got a lot of excess skin so it's not like i'm *actually* obese. Gee thanks friend :-p   But it's true - but, back to working on a 2nd round NSV.

Apparently we're OLD! I lost a half inch too :( I didn't know people in our age range shrunk. I'm hearing it more and more... strange...

That happened to me! I have always been 5'7 then last check up I was 5'5. We are shrinking verticallly instead of horizontally!!!

Same sad story here, sorry to say. I went from 5'3 to 5'2 1/4" (the quarter is important when you're 5'2").  I didn't bump back up into 'overweight' but it was aggravating, for sure.

Just think, it could be worse, you could be my height

I can't afford to lose half an inch, let alone one!!

Ohhhh crap---went to my PCP lost 2 yes 2 inches--5'10" to 5'8".
Last week went to the surgeon--he was rushed--hopped on the scale and he was getting ready to measure and I said---"Oh, it's always been 5'10"     He wrote it down.

Not exactly a lie --it has always been.  Figured I'd deal with it next time.(Probably be down to 5-7 by then!)

Can't we all catch a break?

Same here!  Went from 5'7" to 5'6".  And irritated TF out of me too.  I'm taking the position that I was particularly scrunched that day, and I'm sticking with 5'7".

Alot of it has to do with the person measuring, the device used etc. +/- an inch is pretty typical from my experience as a nurse having worked in an office- don't sweat it!!

Damn!  I thought I was too young to be shrinking, but I lost 0.5" too.  Maybe it is measuring error, but I don't want to get any shorter!!  Argh!!

Aw, heck.... I was first 5'7", then at my pre-op appt. I was measured at 5'6", then yesterday back up to 5'7". I think most of the error lies with the person taking the measurement. I never was taller than 5'7 1/4" so I will give that I've lost a quarter inch over the years, but not more than that.

You seemed to me to be a good three inches taller than I am, so I'm going to make a call and say you're still 5'10".
