 Ruggie and Elina-

Thank you so much for your post.  I gues I was being overly simplistic in the travel thing.  We are pretty debt ridden in my house already, but I will make it a priority to stay local.  Thanks so much for taking the time for the sincere and honest input.  You both are the best :)

Ruggie,

Speedy recovery. I hope the pain monster leaves soon. Give your fiance a smooch for being so awesome - just don't move too much.

So, is the pain more pressure? How does it compare to SLeeve surgery? Just trying to figure out if/when I get to that point, will I be able to handle it? Eh - I have an insanely high pain tolerance.

Completely incomparable to VSG. Doesn't compare at all. There is pressure, but tightness - absurd tightness - is a better descriptor. And tenderness, angry skin.  Super duper sore n

If you have a high pain threshold then don't worry about it. Like I said, mine is really low.

I am sorry you are in so much pain now.  It will pass, but it certainly is no fun.  You will eventually be very happy you did this and the pain will be a distant memory.  I know it's hard to imagine this now, but one day you will be telling others how worthwhile this is, even though it's really painful.  My husband and I were just talking about this yesterday, we both agreed that this was a very necessary last step in my recovery.  It changed my perception of my body and increased opinion of my body image tremendously.  I think it was a huge psychological boost in the long run.  I know you will feel the same, eventually.  For now, take it easy and heal up and we are all here for you.

 Hi Elina -

Thanks so much for your kind words. I have no doubt that I willmagreemwith you once it gets into the memory phase. That is exactly how I feel/felt though - that this was really the last step in the process. It has helped with my body image tremendously already!  I absolutely get what you're saying here!!!

Ruggie!  Wow what a journey! I'm so happy for your success!  Wish I could do something for your pain though.  My thoughts are with you on a speedy recovery!  Can't wait to see some before and after pics (ie before WLS and now, not just before PS and now) but understand if you don't feel comfortable.

Feel better soon!
