Anyone have dizziness issues?
I was on a doctor supervised high protein/low carb diet a couple of years ago. I started having dizzy spells, weird wavy vision - that kind of thing. Luckily I saw the doc weekly.
She told me to salt everything. The carbs are where we get most of our sodium intake. She even had me drinking a cup of hot broth every night before bed. I also had to start taking a potassium supplement.
Being pre-diabetic (I was on 2000 mg of Metformin daily), it totally freaked me out to salt all my food AND drink a broth, but it worked almost immediately.
I use Morton's light salt because it also has potassium. I still keep broth around just in cae the wavy vision starts.
I hope it gets better.

I definitely get orthostatic hypotension (dizziness related to a drop in blood pressure when standing up from a sitting position). It doesn't happen all the time, but definitely once in a while. I can't remember if I had it before weight loss or not. I generally used to feel like crap in one way or another all the time, so I probably didn't notice as much.
It is not that uncommon. It was generally the first thing we'd assess when I worked on a cardiac unit and people came in with syncope (fainting). The best way to deal with it is to stay hydrated and go from sitting to standing more slowly than normal.
I have never passed out, but I definitely get a little dizzy and see black spots once in a while. I also get this way when my blood sugar gets low.

Funny, I was just about to post this! Every single time I get up I get flashers in my vision and a little dizzy, if I have been bending over or squatting for any length of time and then get up I usually have to take a knee b/c I get very close to passing out. At my last doctors appointment my BP was 90/50 and my resting pulse rate was in the 50's, so both on the low side. The doctor called it vasovagal syncope, and said it can affect those who have low blood pressure and/or low resting pulse rate.
He told me to get up slower, avoid hot tubs, alcohol and very hot showers.

I'm glad i'm not alone!
I was very disappointed to have booked a suite in Vegas with a jetted tub and then almost pass out after using it once. There was no way I was going to try that one twice!!!
I guess if the trade off is being otherwise healthy and skinny - i'l take it :)

YES, for me it was low blood sugar. Once I started adding milk back into my diet after workouts they went away. Did they check your blood sugar?

Me too...or three...or maybe 46. Whatever. I can almost hear my PCP from years ago telling me I had "benign positional vert-eye-go" (he was Indian and I loved the way he pronounced it). I don't think that's it now, although I do get dizzy on occasion if I turn my head too quickly, or bend down and get backup. At times, it's happened while I've been driving. A wave will hit and I'll wonder for a scary moment if I'll be able to pull over and then it passes. Very weird. We'll see what the PCP says at my checkup today.
