Anyone have dizziness issues?

A week or two ago, I had an incident where I passed out in the shower after I got dizzy, and when i was in the hospital, my BP was dropping when I stood up.

The final "diagnosis" was that I was dehydrated.

That sounds great if I didn't drink a minimum of 80oz of water a day, and usually more.

Since then, I seem to get really dizzy whenever I get up from my recliner and when I take a shower and bath. I took a bath yesterday and came really close to passing out again. (I drank 4 liters of water during dhe day prior to that) (the good news is that I'm back from Vegas and this only put a small dent in my weekend!)

I'm not really sure what to do - it's causing a lot of anxiety but the doctors have told me i'm fine.

My BP runs low usually - on a good day it's maybe 100/70. I'm assuming the dizziness is related to drops in my BP but I don't know why that started happening recently. I'm just wandering if anyone else deals with this and gotten any explanations from a doctor (i'm not looking for medical advice, but i'm just curious - i'm at a loss here).

Girl, as often as you & I talk, I'm surprised I haven't told you that I had a couple dizzy spells lately. One time happened when I got on my knees to look under my bed for an earring that fell. I got up & the room was spinning so I closed my eyes for a couple seconds but still felt a little light headed for a while. I'm not sure if my issue is th same as yours. I'd like to hear what others have to say too.

Ive experienced it a few times off/on since surgery, but it was usually a couple seconds and never realllyy serious. I guess after my fall, and my now sore ribs that's cramping my workout style, I'm really anxious about it. I think I'm also just irritated that every time I call the advice nurse and ask my PCP, i get the same BS drink more water b/c its dehyrdation answer.  My bladder is wishing I was dehydrated.

I don't have any solutions but for the past week I have been pretty dizzy. I thought I was gong to faint today. I told the dr about it and they said it could be related to my constipation (TMI) and that I was dehydrated so go home and take a laxative and drink water. That was like 3-4 days ago and I've done that and my dizziness is still here and happens at random times even when I'm walking, standing still or getting up from a sitting or laying position. It's getting to the point where I might go to urgent care again and request labs. It's actually scaring me...

Must be something in the air!

I have been having more spells lately, as well.  The first few times it happened were right after surgery, when I know I hadn't gotten enough to drink.  But now I am super aware of how much I'm drinking and still having issues.  I almost passed out at softball practice last week!

I have the most problem when I get up from a kneeling/squatting position and am wondering if it's orthostatic hypotension.  This is very new to me, as I had EXTREMELY high BP before surgery.  I don't see the surgeon again until July and don't really want to wait that long to make sure this is normal.  With the frequency it's been happening, I will probably be calling my PCP this week.  For now, I'm just trying to get in extra water and change positions more slowly (though it's not really helping much!).

I dont believe mine is WLS related since I have to be on a BP med for a heart condition - at least that's what I think - it's a BP issue.

But even if it was....Id happily take this little complication in exchange for the benefits.

I think your right... I am on 3 pills for high BP, 1 for high cholesterol, 1 for diabetes and insulin also! I think it will be worth it in the end. I just worry about coming off meds before they do make me pass out... I'm sure my Dr will fill me in when I get closer to surgery...

Maybe, your BP med needs adjusting? Do you have A-Fib?

I *may* have long QT synd....im on 25mg of atentolol....my cardiologist said he doesnt want to reduce the dosage.

But then again, I wasn't *diagnosed* with this until Feb 2011 and then last week I had a normal EKG. So who knows...maybe im on these meds for no reason.
