Where do you get the cards for resturants after surgery?

Kids menu items are loss leaders for most restaurants -- there's no reason to take advantage of people. Be a grown up and order an appetizer or see if the'll do a half size entree. There is usually nothing healthing on the kids menu anyway.  Just my opinion
AMEN. . .

There's nothing of nutritional value on a kid's meal.

I split an entree with my son. Or, I order what I want and bring home the leftovers for 2-3 more meals. It still works out cheaper than a kid's meal. No reason for me to flash a card to a complete stranger to say "HEY, I had my guts altered so I'd put the fork down and not be a fatty anymore. Please accommodate me because of a choice I made."  I got one with my band surgery, never even remotely thought of using it.

I still have zero need to ever use one. For buffets, I get a to go box and pay by the pound. Like $3 for 3 meals, that's a win win in my pocketbook!

I have never used one and never would. It's totally up to the restaurant if they choose to honor it or not. It's my issue and I don't choose to bring them into it by asking for an unwarranted discount.

I got mine from my surgeon's office. The only time I ever brought up my surgery at a restaurant was when this place said that in order for my friend to get the all you can eat option ($30something), I had to get it too. I asked why I couldn't just order a la carte while he did the all you can eat and they said it was because of sharing food. I didn't want him to have to order all of his stuff separately and probably end up paying more so I just told the girl. She was cool with it and said she would just keep an eye on us. I thought it was funny that she thought I might make it up. I thought my friend was more embarrassed than I was. I didn't care. The girl was really nice and she said people go there all the time and say that.

As for the actual card, I thought about using it a few times but the kids prices aren't really worth it. You get way more food for your money with adult meals and you get to eat a few times.

My card isn't just for the kids menu, it's for the senior menu too so that has more healthy options on it.

My eating out strategy: I order a side salad and a side of meat. (Shrimp, grilled chicken, most restaurants have a price for this even though it's not on the menu) Usually comes out to $5-$8 dollars, but keeping me on track and not eating the chips and dip-so totally worth it.

When I'm with new people who don't know about my surgery, I'll order the healthiest thing on the menu and ask if anyone wants to share. No one ever asks questions, or ever comments.
