Hiatal Hernia Developed after Surgery??

Anybody out there have a hiatal hernia that showed up after weight loss surgery? My husband is 6.5 months out and just learned he has one that wasn't there before surgery. Surgeon says sometimes there is a weakness but all your fat holds things in place and when the fat is gone things can move. Says its not common but does occur.  Hubby is down a total of 150 lbs!! yay.

so has anybody else had this and did youi get a repair?  Diane

I had two Hital hernia during the first lapband and when removing it

I haven't had one, but was told that there was an increased risk after laprascopic surgery. The incisions weaken the abdominal wall.

 I had one that developed after banding, had it repaired while I was under for my VSG.
