Trust me, ive probably complained and whined enough times to fill up the cookie jar myself about slow WL, stalls, etc, but not in the ignorant, "i actually believe something is wrong" kind of of way, and certainly don't let it affect my behavior or choices.

If I don't wake up skinny next week, I'm going to CRY. I know there's a skinny girl trapped in this jiggly body somehwere.

I am sooo not kidding, this post made me laugh my ass off. Just "Before you go cutting out your stomach" had me dying!!!

And you know what... YOU'RE WRONG! I DID wake up skinny. I don't know what you're talking about. Pshh.

You're totally right though I think I just started really feeling normal in the last 2ish months.

I would also like to add that those of us without major complications need to be thankful as HELL. The first month sucks, but you're alive. I know I struggled and I posted about it. I felt weak quite often , would fall asleep while driving, I've struggled with dehydration, my meds and vits would make me gag, I had a major issue with sleep, my emotions went psychotic, a month and a half in I hit a major depression that I'm finally coming out of, etc. etc. etc. On top of that, I wasn't sure if my "plan" was too advanced and if I was eating things too soon so I had no idea what to eat, when to eat it and who to listen to. It was all very crazy. Oh yeah, and my recovery in the hospital was the devil! Oh... and I felt like the ultimate slow loser because I would hit "stalls" every few ******g days. Anyway, despite that, no REAL complications. All of us who just have the BUMPS in the road, and to the new people, there will be a TON of bumps, we need to just be happy that we are experiencing THESE bumps instead of the bumps that we'd be experiencing from prolonged obesity.

I'd also really like to add that even though it's common sense, THIS IS MAJOR SURGERY WHERE MOST OF AN ORGAN IS GETTING REMOVED. You can/will have pain and/or complications. Sometimes they can be HUGE and even deadly. When people say "this isn't what I signed up for." I think, "actually guys, we all signed that paper right before having surgery that said this is EXACTLY what we signed up for..."

You woke up skinny !!!  I totally hate you!! Hahaha....damn it, ive been working my butt off for two years, and Ive got a skinny waist and that's about it :-p PSHHH.

I was just grateful to have the surgery - so many people have barriers to even getting it. I'm not going to cry because I had it and now I don't like it.

It's also permanent, so if you (and by you I don't mean anyone posting on this thread) didn't like it too bad.  Better find a way to like it and make it work real quick...

acbbrown - you're a super athlete that totally kick ass with a skinny waist...

Sooo permanent. That's a good thing for a lot of reasons but it scares me at the same time! What's done is done! Gotta work with what you have.

Yeah i woke up from surgery borderline anorexic looking. The doctor thinks maybe I should increase my calories and thicken up a bit. It was crazy.

It was pretty easy for me to actually get it too... besides following all the damn requirements. But after spending 400 years in school you get used to taking classes, chasing your tail, getting sent to different offices, retaking classes, meeting new requirements and all that **** so it was whatever. I was still thinking "Damn, it's FREE!?" Well, almost much free anyway.

And shut up. You look good and after you have all that damn plastic surgery... DAMN! You think we're fighting over you now?? You just wait!

Excellent post (as usual) Alison.  Although far from a vet myself, I would be happy to answer any preop/newbie questions also.  You have great insight and advice.
