Alison, so sorry to hear that you have been in pain. Yes, it feels good to whine.
I hope you find a solution to your pain so it doesn't recur, so you need high-yielding solutions. Taking pain pills may not be good long term and some aggravate constipation. With medical problems, generally I have found that by combining natural remedies with traditional medicine you get better and long lasting relief.
I don't know if this is effective or not but I looked up some information and see that Dong Quai is a Chinese herb that "promotes female reproductive health and hormone balance" and is recommended if you have ovarian cysts.
As you probably know, oral contraceptives and surgery are options if the pain doesn't go away.
Castor oil applied topically is very good for pain which could be rubbed on pelvic area. I had a bum ankle when i was heavier and used generous amount of castor oil rubbed into the skin, then put heating pad over painful area, and it cured the pain.
Here is a quote on the subject of ovarian cysts on a website:
"So if you have cysts in the ovary, you should remember this.
i have chronic constipation so i understand. i stack a number of bowel moving things everyday -- magnesium powder, miralax, often Fleet suppository, occasionally Smooth Move.
Years ago i had heel spur which is painful, and learned that eating dairy would make a difference, and it did but improvement does not happen overnight. It has something to do with balancing out the amount of phosphates we ingest.
i will pray to the Universe, asking for relief for your pain and symptoms.

- Do not east sweeteners and other artificial additives.
- Red meat is also best avoided.
- Your diet should consist of vegetables, fruits, seeds, nuts, grains and beans.
- Take as much organic food as possible."
