For the past 3 days I have been so hungry! I eat and 2 hours later I'm hungry again. What the heck? I wondered if I was deyhdrated and thinking I'm hungry but just need water. But my goodness have I been hungry. Up until now, I've not felt that hungry. Any ideas what this is about? What should i do?

Could TOM be near?

A lot of women find that they get hungry around then... I know I do sometimes!

We were sleeved the same day! I have to admit that my hunger has definitely increased as well. Before i was okay with eating 400-500 calories a day but lately i have been closer to 600-650. I had a checkup today and the nutritionist says that it is totally normal especially that now i am doing more exercise. Plus moonglo82 has a good point, that time of the month also increases my hunger!

My sleeve sister and I have noticed this same thing, more hunger and hungry more often/quicker after eating.

Mine is really bad right now because it is that TOM.  I wake up in the wee hours of morning and can't go back to sleep and then I'm cranky, tired, and ravenous through the daytime.   Had just meat and cheese for dinner last night and still got hungry within a couple of hours.  Hope I start early and then the flip will switch and I can get back on track.  Guys have no idea how lucky they are not to deal with these stupid hormones every month.

Yes!  This happened to me.  I worked with some vets and learned more about my own reactions to particular foods and I can tell you that at 8-1/2 mos out it is all good.  I am not hungry.

I am post-menopausal, so I don't have TOM issues exactly, but my hunger does change.  Here are some ideas that worked for me.  First of all, have you been cleared for all foods?  If so, I discovered that part of my problem was that I was eating softer foods that didn't keep me full.  Any meat salad (tuna salad, chicken salad) doesn't stay with me long.  Luncheon meats don't work so well either.  What does work is dense meats, particularly chicken breast.  I really can't eat more than 2-1/2 oz of chicken breast even now, and I don't have the smallest sleeve out there. Cottage cheese was also very filling.  Lo-fat string cheese, which I really enjoy, isn't much of a fill-me-up though.  So, find what fills you up and limit what doesn't.

Another thing was that I was doing protein supplements 2x a day, primarily because it was a calorie-efficient way to meet my 70g goal.  Problem was, it wasn't hunger-efficient.  I still do a protein supplement in my coffee because I'm not much of a breakfast person, but I eat all the rest of my food.

Third, sometimes when I'm hungry, cold drinks don't do a thing for it, but I'm really satisfied with something warm.  Like tea or decaf coffee.  Or if I am more in the mood for cold, I find iced decaf coffee with a little almond milk really satisfying, compared to water.  It has a few calories - which I log - but it carries me through to the next meal.

Finally, a dear OH friend reminded me that there was no honor in hunger, and fixing this problem was a priority.  She taught me the value of vegetables, and if I am hungry between meals, I eat a vegetable snack.  Usually, this is something more fibrous than you might be ready for, like cole slaw.  I am a raw cabbage fan of the highest order, and eat a lot of it.  But try Elina's green chicken soup, or some other lo-cal high veggie food when you are hungry.

I guess my main points would be, it got better for me as time went on, not worse, and it is very manageable now.  Good luck!!

Everyone is different, but I find how hungry I get today is often linked to how many carbs I ate the previous day.  Are you tracking carb intake?

Could it just be acid reflux? It also mimics hunger, and gurgles like it too. This is why we are supposed to eat every 3-4 hours with dense protein. Keeps the food in longer and takes longer to digest. If the acid doesn't have anything to work on, with less space now, you will feel it more, and think you are hungry when you are not. Learn which foods are sliders and which ones stay with you longer. The heavier the protein, the longer you can go without feeling the desire to eat.

Thank you so much for all this feedback! I have increased my carb count a little bit. I added a Zone Perfect bar for breakfast, here and there, a few crackers and an occasional piece of bread with peanut butter. My carb count whent from 40 to 50 on average this past week so I am definately thinking about how that might be impacting me. Today I have carb count super low so we'll see how that pans out tomorrow/in the days to follow. I can start to add vegetables...I started adding lettuce in small amounts.

I don't know if is that TOM, and this might be too much information, but I have been spotting a couple times a week but nothing more then that.

I'm going to decrease my carbs and try to eat more consistently.

Thank you so much for sharing!
