My diet plan is 1 week clear liquids, 2 weeks full liquids, then after week 3 it is on to mushy (pureed) foods.  I would say mash up the watermelon into a paste like substance and have at it.

I'm not sure if it fits into your diet stage right now, but my NUT warns me that this is a very sugary fruit and to try and avoid it.

I was told no watermelon.   Too much sugar.   Too bad because my daughter loves watermelon.   It might be ok at your stage because liquids are so important at that time.

When it comes to what you can have when, always refer those questions to your dr or nut. Especially in the first month or so, all of our plans are different, and what was true for one person might not be true for you. Better safe than sorry!

I had two bites at about 5 weeks, hated it.  I loved it so much preop!

So I bought some today and am going to retry it right now!  It's basically sugar water.  But thats ok for me, I focus so much on protein that a 1/4 cup of watermelon once in a while will not kill my goals!

Ask your NUT!

You may be allowed to have it, but I would avoid it - at least during weight loss.  A typical wedge has 86 calories (Yjay would be about 1/6 of a gat for me) with almost 1/2 of my daily carb goal and no protein.

I love watermelon too - but right now its just not in the cards.

I've been eating watermelon for the past 3 days. I didn't really care for it before surgery, but now I love it. I've lost 3 pounds the past 3 days that I have eaten it! My NUT says its fine for me to eat, I just make sure I always eat my protein first :)
