I started back to work yesterday & I realized how hard it is to drink & work. Well, where I work is a desk job but we are per say timed on our work. Pretty sad when you work in financial industry & my dept. is research. But, basically I have to have a high enough productivity rate. I always got my fluids in pre op but it was work work work, chug chug chug.  Also I only ate 2x & had a protein shake yesterday & only totalled about 40 oz of fluids.

My NUT wants me to use 2 protein shakes (to get 60g) now & then I'll have 22oz there & focus more on veggies in my meals.  I'm frustrated.

Who else has gone through something similiar & what suggestions do you have????

Can you plan your presumed 2 - 15 minute breaks around drinking a protein shake then use your lunch to eat what you can immediately, wait your 30 then use the last 15 for more water?

I know this is based on an "ideal' work environment. Create a 'smoke break' so to speak ?

I use my 2- 15 min breaks to walk because we have a 6 yr old that is in t-ball, soccer & cub scouts, I have counseling 1x per week & PT 1-2x per week & all other incidentals. I am also starting to incorporate a zumba class 2x per week in . I use my 2- 15 min breaks to walk. This ensures i get 30 min walking 5x per week.  Per our time rules I have to wait 40 min after I eat to drink again & lunch is 30 min.

My drive time is about 10- 15 min each way.

I really appreciate the ideas. I am so at a loss with this

I'm in the same situation. I have NO time at work to drink. Today was my first day back and it was a struggle. 48 oz in and it's time for bed. Don't know how I will ever do it. If you find a solution, let me know! Good luck!

Are you not allowed a water bottle at your desk?  Maybe if you got a note from your doctor??  Something that just says you are in danger of dehydration - so it is suggested that you be allowed to drink.  I have to remember to drink my water - all the time.  lol

Keep one or two bottles of water with you at your desk. Even if you're not allowed to drink while at your desk, use a bathroom break to get in more fluids while you're getting some out!! LOL. I keep a camelbak bottle with me all the time. It's the only thing that keeps me on target with fluids.

Whats the difference between regular bottle and a camelbak bottle, is the CB bottle better for you? Also is that like using a straw that most of us arnt suppose to be using.. Just asking b/c I want one
