You are inspiring me right now. I read your first post on this thread and ended up with tears in my eyes. Over the morning I've skimmed through the rest of the replies and the feeling has remained. I am SOOO happy for you, and SOOO proud of you. Something about your story and the way you tell it...makes me really think that maybe *I* can do this too. I can't imagine it right now, although I visualize it every day. At 3 weeks out today, the scale hasn't moved in a week now (okay, down a little on Saturday, up slightly, and now stuck) and while I know this is normal, we all know it's still frustrating. So I'm chugging away, feeling a little more energetic overall, starting my soft/mushy foods (this morning's cottage cheese is doing just fine), and realizing how NEW I am to all this. It will change. It will get better. I need time and patience. And I need to have stories like yours to read to remind me of that. Patience IS key. I didn't get as fat as I am overnight and I'm not going to lose it overnight. You weren't able to run a 10k overnight, but with time, patience, perseverance, and a whole lot of awesomeness, you did it. Others are doing it. We can ALL do it.

Thank you so much for sharing your joy and this wonderful victory.

YAY for outrunning skinny people, I love passing the little skinny girls who look like they have never eaten a sandwich, it always makes me want to run faster so they can watch my flappy ass wave goodbye as I pass them! If this **** was easy, everyone would do it, and most choose not to even try but you are out there rocking it and it shows.

Eff the scale, keep being a superstar. You are an inspiration.

Allison,

You are truly an inspiration, seeing your workouts on MFP cause me to push myself further. I no longer just get on my bike and cruise, I get on and “Thrash my legs".

I know exactly how you feel about not worrying about the scale and looking back at your accomplishment instead. My scale moves but not like it did the first nine months. I was “stalled" for about 3.5 months, and still dropped 3 pants sizes. If I stressed the scale I would have gone crazy. I jump on the scale at the end of week, but I only “count" my weight officially on pay day.  I do wish I would have gone harder with my cardio in the first six months.

Congrats on everything you have accomplished

Thank you and Keep up the great work.

Way to go Alison!!   Reading your post, leaves me with a few tears in my eyes, though.   I started this journey having lost, most of my mobility.   I was using two canes to get around, even after losing 88 pound up to the day of VSG surgery.  7 months earlier the hip surgeon wouldn't do anything for me, he quickly dismissed me and told me to come see him when I was at 40 BMI, I was over 60 BMI when I saw him and feeling hopeless.   Being approved for a VSG, gave me some hope, I started losing in my 6 month insurance class and I grabbed onto that rope of hope and have held on tight.   I am not sure what kind of mobility I can regain but I am getting close to hip surgery and seeing how much  mobility I have left.   So tears of joy, to see what you have done, how far you have come and it inspires me.........maybe just maybe, there is hope for me as well!!!!
