Hi Everyone,

Has anybody gained most of their weight back. I would love to hear from people that are at least 3 years post-op.

I am 3.5 years out and doing fine. My lowest point was 127 and I did not like myself that skinny. Deliberately gained a little back and now stay in the 130-135 range pretty easy. Have got up to 138 at one point but losing it back was pretty fast Are you having issues?

Yes, I never lost as much as I should have. I was told my surgeon was inexperienced and left sleeves HUGE. I have to get re-sleeved. Am going back in June.

Who are you having do the revision?

Pompa unfortunately is well known for not making a properly shaped sleeve due to her supposed over-cautious (I've read some accounts that she does this to lower the chance of leaks? I don't buy it though) technique of leaving the upper and sometimes even lower sections of the stomach very large. I'm sorry this has been a hard situation for you, but you didn't get a good sleeve to begin with..

There are only a couple surgeons in MX that are great ones to do revisions (much more risky) Aceves and Ungson.. I don't know if Alvarez does a lot of revision work, but I know Aceves has, and has had Pompa revisions before.. there can be a lot of scar tissue,  so please PLEASE either stay stateside and go to a surgeon that handles revision cases or go to only the KNOWN good surgeons that can handle what you have if you are headed back to MX..

I am so sorry!  I really hope they do it right for you.  I have a 32fb if that helps.

Thank you. I have a date of 6/14 scheduled with Dr Aceves. I hope he does a better job. I think Dr Pompa gave me a big sleeve because I had a lower BMI. It was 32 or 33.

Yay! Glad you are going to Aceves! He will do the best he can with what he finds in there, be assured about that. He is known for nice snug sleeves too.. and he is very open and sharing, so tell him your fears and concerns and let him explain what he's looking to do to help you! Good luck!

Well I am only 2 years out but I wanted to chime in. I have had no regain problems yet. I am hopeing that I wont but Im sure eventually it will become harder to keep it off. I used Aceves and I know he is great! Worth every extra penny for him, I promise! I lost 141 lbs.

Be nice to nurses....we keep doctors from killing you!
