Taking Matters Into My Own Hands

I am waiting to find out whether I am approved for my VSG or whether I have to go through the six-month monitored diet thing.  Since I'm already a lifetime member of WW and have done other monitored diets over the past 35 years, we're hoping my regular doctor's letter and other info we're sending will let me move forward. Sometimes it does, but my surgeon says lately it has gotten more difficult.

In the meantime we have a family vacation scheduled for mid-to-late June.  If I don't get this soon, I could end up getting the approval and not having time for the surgery and recovery prior to the trip.  This trip can't be changed.

So... yesterday I started my pre-op diet "just in case." 

Fingers crossed approval comes through, but if I have to wait six months I haven't hurt anything!

when did they submit? I would call and check the status... i called the day after i was submitted to make sure they rec'd ( I've had so many fax issues in this process!) They had and said it was pending, they didn't have any other details... That was a fri, i called monday again to check and was told i was approved and letters had been mailed to me & my dr that am!!! I have still yet to receive the letter (lol)! but they also gave me a ref # and i called my drs office with it, they varified it and i was scheduled the next day for less than 2 wks later!

I think they normally take weigh****chers as a monitored diet ** fingers crossed**

Weight  Watchers is acceptable, but I haven't done it in the past 24 months.  That's why we're waiting to see!

I am not sure whether they submitted last Friday or Monday.  4 or 5 working days. So you called the insurance company to make sure they received it? That's smart.

And... my cell phone just rang and I'M APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
