OMG - i never knew...
I Don't know anything about the gas but my Dr. was clear that Miralax was his choice for constipation issue and I can say it gave me great relief... and it never caused me any gas, just soft stools, with an over the counter, white powder that has no taste....mixed with water. I really hope you get it figured out...I can tell how discouraging it is for you.... If you haven't tried it yet for the constipation, I would.... BTW, it is not one that causes your bowels to depend upon it to work normally without it.....like some laxatives have a reputation of having.... Feel Better Soon....
I started the rx bc the stool softeners, mirlax, MoM, ex-lax, fiber supplements, high fiber diet - they didnt work. When the ex lax wasnt working, I knew I was in trouble.

My 5-year-old daughter has Spina Bifida, so we have lots of potty issues. I have become quite the poop expert! We give her a daily dose of Senna and then do an enema at night. Here is a recipe that we use to do a clean out if she gets really backed up:
6oz mineral oil 1 1/4 cup chocolate pudding
1 1/2 cup ice vanilla ice cream (we use chocolate sometimes)
Mix together and put in the freezer in serving size portions. I use the small glad or plastic round containers and then have several in the freezer ready to go. It's ready to use after it firms up in the freezer. Sometimes takes more than one serving, but will really get things going, so be ready!
Hope this helps and things get moving for you soon!
