Ladies, I was wondering has anyone been recalled for follow-up Mammogram after losing weight. I'm hoping it is changes due to weight loss, but I'm going crazy worrying, I had the first one on 3/29 and will have another one on the 12th with an ultrasound I have a Aunt and a cousin with breast cancer, I know there is nothing I can do, but the waiting is driving me crazy. just wondering if anyone has had this happen.

I'm Still a work in progress, I wont give up the quest to reclaim my life, I will be whole again someday!

Yes I have and I was just as scared and worried as you are.

Wish I had known this: http://www.webmd.com/breast-cancer/guide/mammogram-results . The overwhelming majority of abnormal breast cancer findings turn out not to be cancer.

Sending prayers and virtual hugs.

Thanks, I'm feeling some better, I did not realize there are so many abnormal results yearly, So glad yours was OK, and hoping mine turns out OK too.

 Hi boomercd,

I can completely empathize with the terrible scary feeling.  I do have cancer, but not breast cancer.  I did have a mammogram comeback suspect, so as you can imagine I assumed the worse given that I was already a known case.  Ended up being nothing at all.  It was just a fat clump that had a different density then the surrounding tissue, and that is why it came back suspect.  I did have to increase the frequency of mammograms to every six months for a few years, but last year switched back to 1 a year.  I too have a monster family history- my mom (death at age 54) and both grandmothers died from cancer, my great aunt died at age 32 from it, my aunt has cancer, and so on and so forth.

I can't say " try not to worry" because I totally get that until you hear that it is nothing, worry happens.  I can say that there are many many abnormal results that are later cleared.  Hang in there and please feel free to PM me anytiime.  Hugs.

Connie sorry to see you are going through this, it is very scary. I went through this years ago and everything turned out fine. My daughter is going through the same thing right now, she had a mammogram an ultrasound and a biopsy, results are still inconclusive. The surgeon wants another ultrasound in a month. I wish they would just remove the lump. It is very nerve racking. Wishing you the very best. I'll keep you in my prayers. Keep us posted.

Thanks Penny, I'm glad yours was OK, so sorry your daughter is going through this Ive played a hundred scenarios out in my head, it always comes back to the worst one. I don't know why I can never think the best! Ive research everything I can find on the Internet, not always the best thing to do, but there is some positives, there are alot of people that go through this that it ends up being nothing, so I'm hoping for the best for me and your daughter. Keep praying! Ill keep you posted........Connie

Mine also came back abnormal, back in October. I went for a ultrasound and another Mammogram in November. They could not find anything, however they weren concerned still and want me to come back in May to be checked again just in case. They said by that time that if there is anything there they should be able to see it this time.
