I wanted to thank you again for all the words of wisdom and advice you gave me pre-op. You really were one of the few people who paid a big role in helping me be so sure about this journey before I went on it. Not only that, but since I've been home, I've been really comfortable sharing my experience and what I've done with people who've asked. Being I've never been one who's shared my struggles with weight, this has been a huge change. I am a very open person otherwise, so this would of been the only thing I've kept hidden and I feel so comfortable sharing. I am not ashamed - and you're right, it does take more courage to do something about it.
I'm proud to say that I have officially lost 26lbs since my surgery 16 March, 23 days ago. It's an awesome feeling. Very surreal because, like you mentioned, I believed I was going to endure being fat for the rest of my life! And like many, my only regret is not doing something about it sooner and I'm saying this while I'm still doing liquids with very few soft foods.
These liquid 'n soft food phases were the part that worried me the most, and I'm finding it to be fairly easy. I know this is a learning process and I won't be able to rely on just this tool that Dr Aceves gave me. This tool + me and my determination will = success! I cannot wait wait to be out as far as you are and looking back.
I am very thankful to have found Dr Aceves and I can honestly say, I would go the same way all over again in a heartbeat. I love him and his whole team, they are worth their weight in gold. I am very proud to even have made my mom, the lady who didn't want anything 'cut out' of her and did the lapband instead - a believer and if she would of waited until after my surgery, she would of converted and gone with Dr. Aceves.
