I have taken miralax everyday since having my band with no issues. I  noticed you had a band and was revised to the sleeve. I had my band placed 11/2008. It slipped last month and it was removed. I am now doing preop for the sleeve. I did well with the band but still have 70lbs to lose. did your band slip. Did you remove it and do the sleeve in the same surgery??

Kelly, my band slipped about 2 years out.  I had to have it fixed surgically.  Two years later, I was not losing weight, and I was so frustrated with my restriction.  Some meals I was fine and could eat a band-sized portion of healthy foods, but the next meail wouldn't go down at all.  Any little thing effected my restriction and made it too hard to eat right.  After a total of 4 years of dealing with this, I gave up.  I don't think everyone is meant for the band, and I truly don't think my esophogus was meant to deal with it for years to come.

My surgeon put in a request with my insurance company for a revision, due to uncontrollable restriction, making it impossible to monitor my weight.  I was approved, and here I am! ha ha  My band was removed and my sleeve done in one surgery.
