My pain level is very tolerable, except my bowels.  UGH!   I had to travel to another town for the surgery , even going a couple of days ahead of time to do all of my preop appointments.  I have never done well traveling and staying "regular", and this trip was no different.  So, I went in to surgery constipated.  I would say my last bm was Saturday.  Any suggestions? I think that I would feel so much better, if I could take care of business.

I had one doese of MOM in the hospital, and took some Miralax last night.  Please help me out if you have any tips!

Hey there, I thought I found somewhere in the paperwork a reference to taking Colace. Please let me know if you need me to bring some by--I haven't had a shower yet but I'm off work today and if I put my hair in pony tail and brush my teeth I'm good to go!
Tip: as much water as you can stand!

You are very sweet!  Acosta said I can get any OTC stuff I want, just need something that works! Ha ha
Frezza had me drink that stuff the night before to clear the bowels, should have done that again.

Lol, I can see your point, but that's better than the current pain I am in.

Hey Melly! Glad you are home!! I know water water water is best, speaking from an o.r. nurse that I am What about trying a fleets enema and see if something gets started. I know it sounds awful but it may be worth a try. Good luck Feel better ssssoooonnn! I had to have colace after back surgery and it gave me terrible abdominal cramping, even tho its just a softener. You need something with a stimulant in it as well.

Yeah, constipation is my major issue.

and while swallowing pills may suck for a while, this is what I do:

1-2 500mg Magnesium Oxide tabs a day (1 at lunch, 1 at bed)
1 probiotic (I use Primal Defense Ultra)
2-4 colace at bed.

This is the only way I poop every day.

But for now, try adding Miralax to your protein shakes or water. and if things are dire, you may need to resort to an enema. I know...sucky, but just saying.

Hang in there!
