Back from vacation, up 3 lbs

Well I was away for two weeks and came back to being up 3 lbs which I hope will get them off over the long weekend. I am not upset about the weight gain but was hoping to eat better and exercise more but that didn't happen. My baby decided to be in the water with me at all times so finding a time to swim where there was room in the pool was hard to find. I did walk the beach a few times the sand fleas made visiting the beach difficult. I had lots of alcohol lol rubbed it on my bug bites, maybe drank a few but under 10 alcohol drinks in two weeks so not bad.

Definitely a challenge going with family that want to eat as soon as the buffet opens for breakfast, lunch and supper. I wasn't that hungry and skipped lunch a few times and stuck with my protein drink, I was finding it too hard to get my liquids in because everytime I turned around it seemed like the family all wanted to go and eat and I cannot starve my children lol. I did make some bad choices but basically stuck with steak or chicken, bacon for breakfast with an egg and cheese. I had broccoli usually with my meals or green beans. I did get into a habit of their chili for lunch on top of some nacho chips with cheese sauce in my last few days. I guess I am going to have these moments for the rest of my life and going to have to get use to dealing with the slight weight gains and get them pounds off right away instead of saying I will take care of it next week, then the next week etc... back to possible the pouch test if I can't get them off over the weekend.

Hope these pictures work

My heaviest about 305 lbs

Just imagine how much you would've ate BEFORE surgery! Just get back to basics for the next 2 weeks and I'm sure you will see those 3 pounds melt right off! Glad you had fun!!!

There is only one success--to be able to spend your life in your own way.

I use to eat two plates at the buffet, this is my 3rd time at this resort, 1st time since the surgery. So maybe 3 ounces of meat and veggies but didn't feel much for restriction at all until I was full!!

The waiters offered me drinks continously and didn't understand why I wouldn't drink with my meals where I got to the point of letting them put a glass of water infront of me. When I went to the special restaurants the waiters would ask me if there was something wrong with my meal and I would say no that I was saving some room for dessert which I did have a few times, I waited a year for their chocolate moose that I loved last year.

3 LBS is not so bad for a 2 week vacation at a resort! I was going to say the same as the above post ...think of what you would have done before. WTG controlling yourself!
We have to live our lives and times like this should be enjoyed ( I think).  Just not overly enjoyed...lol
Get back on track and the lbs. should come off pretty quick.

I think you look way different! I see posts like this and I totally relate. We have all been there. I dont think skinny people are perfect, they just stay in moderation more often and then back on track quickly. Sounds like exactly what you are doing. I know there is a psychology to deprivation. If you hadn't had the mousse, you'd have felt deprived and then the results could have been more than 3 pounds. I am struggling to find the balance between discipline and enjoying life without obsessing. I think once we master THAT formula, rather than just calories, fluids, protein, etc...that is when we become the skinny girls with energy and big smiles.

I am still having a hard time with seeing the difference even with the pictures. I see the difference in clothing and able to move around better. I feel better but like I said I don't see the difference and understand from reading on here that it takes a long time before we can get our minds to see it. Still waiting for that day.

You are so right about finding the balance between discipline and enjoying life, I still have lots to lose so I have to side with the discipline for probably another year yet. I will have moments like this I am sure and I think I know what I have to do after reading Elina's posts all the time. Catch them few pounds while they are only a few instead of waiting until it is like 10 pounds or more.

Something else to think about is how much sodium you may have been ingesting without realizing it. Most restaurant food is packed with sodium! I bet you didn't gain 3 pounds of fat... a lot of it is probably water weight and will come right back off now that you are home and back on your normal routine.

And I agree with the others. You were on vacation... what's the point if you can't enjoy yourself a little every now and then? If you don't let it totally derail you, then you have an awesome NSV under your belt.

Yes I thought sodium as well because there was a few days my feet were swollen.

I am not concerned about it, as they mentioned skinny people stay skinny by getting back to controlling more often and not doing without. This is something that I am going to have to live with for the rest of my life, learning how to get back on track right away instead of waiting years to do it.

There were days where it was probably 37 where I stayed in the shade and didn't move much, the ocean nor pool to cool us off.

Once again, I am not upset over the weight gain just know I have to get it off again quickly. I plan to go next year without the baby, this way I can stay away from eating so often down there. My oldest child and family went to eat without the adults a few times so it is ok to take the oldest since they don't want to be seen with parent or any other adult.
