Yeah! Unfortunately I still look and feel overweight. Weighed 135.6 today but I am only 5'2". Still need to lose 15 -20 lbs to hit goal. Hope to look better at that weight. I fit into most size 10s, but I was much smaller at this weight before (it has been almost 20 yrs since I weighed this though). I can definitely see the effects of yo yo dieting - Im not bouncing back like I did when I was younger.

Anyone else out there 5'2" or shorter - what weight did you have to get to before you looked thin? What about sizes - I really think that at 5'2" I should be wearing a size 8 or smaller. For other short women at goal - what size are you wearing?

I have similar stats as you. My goal was 140, I'm between 135-137 most days. I asked him if I should lose more...he didn't think I should go much under 130 or I might look sickly. I have been as low as 132 and think he's right. My face looks too thin at the lower weight. He said most of what is left on my tummy is skin and would only go away with a tummy tuck or lower body lift. It does tighten up somewhat with exercise, but it's still there.

Sizes vary by brand - even within the same brand. I have a Levi's denim skirt in a 6 that fits almost the same as the 12 jeans. I've got a couple of 6's, but mostly 8's & 10's. I do have some lingering 12's I haven't replaced yet. I wear those around the house sometimes, but they are kind of baggy for work.

Congrats!! Your body will settle out a little.

Can't help you on the size as I'm tall, but it can vary by people's build. My BMI is 23.4 but I have a large frame. I'm down a little too low and think I look too thin. I'm wearing 8's mostly and some smalls on the top (except when my shoulders won't let me - it's never the weight that decides). I'd like to be back to a 10/medium.

Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22

175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012

Thanks for the replies. Plastic surgery is not an option for me, so Im thinking that I might need to get my weight a little lower than I planned. My waist seems to be bigger (not proportionate) as the pants that fit my waist are saggy in the butt. My face is still pretty full so I know I can easily lose another 15 lbs or so without looking drawn.

At 5'9" you probably look way better in a size 8 than my 5'2" body! And to my fellow short sleever - your face, neck etc look much thinner than mine at around the same weight.  Maybe I am just carrying more fat and less muscle so I am "fluffier".

I'm also 5'2'' I weighed in at 136 today. I wear a size 4 in clothes. I have been away from a 10 since i was 150. They are much to big for me. AS I look at myself and have heard from everyone around me I am skinny...

I am also 5'2" and I weigh 168lbs right now and I can wear a size 10 or 12 pant depending on the cut.  My surgeon and I had this discussion at my last post op appointment.  At 5'2" the charts indicate that I should weight between 110 to 135lbs.  According to my surgeon he does not recommend this for me.  He said that if I were to get that low that I would compromise bone and muscle mass and I would pay for that later in life.  He and my family Dr. told me that 140lbs would be my ideal weight.  He also reminded me that I would likely need plastics and to factor in extra weight from the extra skin etc...  Both my Dr.s said that the charts are wrong.  They are fine if you are an 18yr teenager but if you are older they are very impractical.  I want to be a healthy weight but not look aneorexic.  Do you excercise?  I can tell you that excercise will help tone you up and you should see some differences.  I was a chronic yo-yo dieter myself and my body has so many stretch marks you would think it was a road map but things do bounce back (not as much as I would like mind you).
