1 week out & just fed up

I'm now 7 months out, and the first week is almost a blur.  I do remember being tired a lot.  I walked around the house and went out with the family, but my stamina was really low and just after a couple of minutes, I'd have to sit again, so I truly feel for you.  To put things in perspective though, at 2 weeks, I was back to work full time.  At 3 weeks to the day of surgery, I took my first dance class in over 40 yrs.!  I did 1/2 hr. of tap and 1/2 hour of jazz.  Tap wasn't for me, so I've just stayed with the jazz, but I got through that whole hour, and I'm 57!  Things do improve and fairly quickly.  So hang it there, I promise it will get better!  {{{HUGS}}}

 I had my surgery on the 19th and I didnt make any of my goals for water or protein until this past Wed.  Then it's just been smooth from there.  When you aren't getting the water or the protein you are so tired.  But then all of a sudden you can and everything just  gets better so fast.  I would say yesterday I was almost normal except I fell asleep at 8pm on the couch and slept until 6am.  Tired is just gonna happen when you are getting 400-500 calories a day.  Take your time and give yourself a break!

Thank You for posting!  I am 5 days out and feel the exact same way, except I am no where near where you are with getting my fluids in.  I was feeling like a failure, like I was doing something wrong, mostly just sorry for myself that I am struggling while others are carefree with no problems what so ever.  We are not alone.  We are successful.  And we will be thin, soon!  Hang in there.  I know it will get better soon!

I don't know why your beating yourself up. It sounds to me like you are doing an amazing job. I'm 10 days out and only walk outside for 1/4 mile and my ass is dragging. I try to get my protein in more importantly than eating but I do eat a jar of baby food meats each day (yum I know right) Don't stress yourself out it will all come in time. If you have any doubts just look at all the before and after pics and watch your scale! Best wishes!!!

I wouldn't worry about food AT ALL. Fluids are important. I still struggle with them at 3 1/2 months out. As a matter of fact I'll be going to get IV fluids today, for the 4th or 5th time since surgery. I just hate drinking. Protein is also important. I used to TRY to drink 2 protein shakes a day. If you are doing powdered drinks I used to put as little milk/water as I could and all of the powder and try to drink it as fast as I could. Some of them say 4-8 oz of milk/water so I'd put 4 oz that way I'd be getting all of the protein in as little fluid as I could so it wouldn't take as long and then I'd get my whole day worth of protein in only 8 ounces and had the rest of the day to focus on water. Also, the Unjury chicken broth wasn't that horrible.

As for sleep, girl sleep as much as you can. Don't even worry about it. Also if you have unflavored protein, put that in your cream of wheat! As for your food cravings, I was doing that too. I was dreaming about food actually. To save myself I ended up getting some eggdrop soup and sweet and spicy soup from a chinese food place and I just needed the taste to make me feel better.

 I'm on day 11. I understand. But I've been slowly introducing new foods.  My first week I lived on protein drinks and cup o soup. The beef is really satisfying. Just make it and dump the noodles.  It kept me sane for days. And sf Popsicles. Hope that is helpful.
