Lifting Weights??
I avoided weights over 8 pounds for 6 weeks per my surgeon. He doesn't want his patients risking hernias. That may be pretty conservative, but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry! I started walking after 2 weeks post op, though.
5'5" Goal reached, but fighting regain. Back to Basics.

6 weeks is the guidelines for heavy lifting. Every surgeon will be a little different, and based on how you are healing.
There are some strength training you can do without weights though, like a standing push up against a wall or counter, squats, etc. Check with your surgeon and exercise physiologist if your program has one.

6 weeks is the minimum but 12 weeks is more ideal with abdominal surgery. After 6 weeks you should be ok with 10-15lbs so its a good place to start. Work up to the other stuff.
Weights will definitely help you reduce the flabiness from the weight loss. And every pound of muscle you build burns off extra calories every day. Its a win win.
But dont ru****! LOL.
Your sleeve date is fast approaching!
