PICS! - "Bat-Wing" Surgery in 2 days...Anyone else have a Brachioplasty? What...
Hello OH-ers...I've been absent for a while - living a fantastic healthy life! 
We are in the process of moving...sold our house - which has been a financial "albatross" for years..we are down-sizing to a very small house until we decide if we want to move to a different state.
Surgery...2 days away is my first plastic surgery after reaching my goal in just 10 months of 155 pounds lost. I am 148 currently. I am "getting my feet wet" so to speak with my arms first and was wondering about any one's experiences, good or bad, (hopefully good for you) with this procedure. Please share your thoughts...

Good for you!! I know for sure I'll be needing plastics when it's all said and done. Arms and tummy at least.

Nutshell:
Lost 140 lbs with VSG. (Hooray!!)
got pregnant (yeaaaa!)
got cancer (boooo!)
regained 40 lbs. (grrrr!)
In summary: Alive & Grateful. 
Yep, I had a brachioplasty about a year post-wls. One of the best things I ever did for myself! I'm a church music director, and all that skin a-flappin' when I conducted was driving me crazy!
It was a pretty easy surgery as plastics go. (I've also had a tummy tuck and breast reduction.) Just do exactly what the doc says post-op, and you will be fine.
One thing I did to keep my arms elevated at night was to buy two cheapo round bolsters at Walmart. I covered them in old towels in case I leaked and placed them under my arms while I slept. Worked like a charm!

I had them done in Atlanta. The plastic surgeon I had used in 2003 for a tummy tuck and breast reduction (following another weight loss, heh heh, which of course I gained back!) came highly recommended, and he did a beautiful job on me. He is fabulous, and I never considered Mexico for my arms. Perhaps if I had been considering an entire body lift or something like that, I might have gone with that plastic surgeon Dr. Alvarez recommends ... but for just the arms, it wasn't worth it.

Oh goodness, no. That kind of surgery is not deemed medically necessary. I couldn't even get them to pay for my tummy tuck nine years ago, even though I had rashes and split skin and all kinds of other ookey things. *sigh*
