I HOPE YOUR BABY FEELS BETTER. I TAKE 1000MG OF VITAMIN C A DAY BECAUSE I'M IN THE NURSING FIELD AND I WORK WITH PATIENTS WHO ARE VERY SICK. MY DOCTOR SAID IT WAS OK FOR ME TO CONTINUE TO TAKE THE VITAMIN ****IL THE DAY OF SURGERY. VITAMIN C IS EXCELLENT FOR THE IMMUNE SYSTEM. HOWEVER ALL SURGEONS REQUIRE DIFFERENT THINGS SO I WOULD GIVE THE OFFICE A CALL.

Don't waste your money - countless scientific studies have shown that large doses of Vitamin C do NITHING to prevent, mitigate or lessen the duration of colds, flus or bacterial infections.
Yes, Vit C is necessary for good health, but anything over about 100mg total is excreted in your urine.

If you're already infected, there's nothing you can do to change that. You can make yourself more comfortable by using a saline nasal rinse (like a neti pot), staying well hydrated, gargling with warm sal****er and resting, but you can't do anything about the actual infection once it sets in.

I'd call your bariatric nurse- I know that Tlenol is OK but they can probably tell you if Tylenol cold problems are OK too or what else you can take. Also, since surgery is a little more than a week away you have a good chance of fighting it off. Mainly the surgeon wants to make sure you have no fever or difficulty breathing(you'll need to be able to breath deeply  because after surgery also because it helps clear the anesthesia from your system) . On a more positive note maybe you're not really getting a cold- maybe you are so worried about getting sick and feel your daughter's discomfort so much that you are" taking on"  her symptoms-it still happens to me with my daughter(and she's 22 now) and my close friends. Best wishes!

This happened to me too....and I had my entire life ready for my sleeve day  (work was taken care of, my kids were taken care of) that they date just couldn't be changed in my opinion.
So 6 days before my surgery I was getting sick..I could feel it.  So I stayed in bed all day and called my primary doc, told him the situation and got antibiotics....everything got better and surgery went as planned.
Before my plastics a few months ago...the same thing..I felt like I was going to get sick again so I started taking airborne right away...took it like candy and never got sick.
You gotta be pro active to not get sick and the show can go on.

good luck to you
