Had surgery on 3/12/12.  First post op visit yesterday and disappointed to only lose 3 lbs in 9 days.  I can tell I've lost weight--can see it in my neck and upper torso, but why so few on the scales??

I'm drinking pretty well and getting most of the protiens down, but have ALOT of diarrhea.  Have not had a normal BM since surgery--Doctor does not seem to be worried.  Feeling pretty good, going shopping and pretty much doing the norm around the house with light housekeeping and playing with my boys.  Plan to start a walking program next week.  Back to work 2 weeks from this coming Monday.  Start pureed this weekend.

Any advice about the diarrhea and how to get the pounds to come OFF?

Also--how do you adjust the ticker??  I want to track my progress, but don't know how to adjust??  LOL

I lost almost nothing the first two weeks. Didn't slow me down in the long run. My advice is to stay off the scale a few weeks and just worry about healing. Your body is probably packing on water for healing. Some folks seem to do that, some don't.

Fluids in, fluids out. Your diarrhea will resolve when you start to eat more normally, in fact you may find the pendulum swings the other way. That's why your Doc isn't worried.

Good to meet ya.

We had surgery on the same day. I lost 18lbs in about 6 days. Today is day 10 and I am at a small stall. I haven't budged the scale in 4 days. Everyone looses at a different pace. I may stay this way for another week and by the end of that time you may have lost more than me. Whatever you do don't compare weight loss. I've focused on that too much myself. Today I came to terms with the fact I need to let go. We are bound to loose weight. Patience!
