What are some good-for-you veggies that are not carby?

I thought lima beans (since they're BEANS) would be good for me but just reading a post further down where someone told a guy to try cutting out the "carby lima beans" instead of a 300 calorie protein shake. I really thought I had made a good choice with the limas. Blah!
My doctor told me PROTEIN FIRST but start adding in some fruits and veggies to my diet as well. Suggestions please?

If you steam broccoli or cauliflower and add a bit of cream and butter, blend them up, they taste almost like real mashed potatoes. Also there is egg plant that you can use to make noodle-less lasagna. You can try salads of course, I love them! Also I really like those mini bell peppers they are so good. Not too many carbs in any of those. Still I think beans are ok(they pack a real fiber punch)...I think you should pay attention to your body and see if they make you gain or cause you to stop losing...but I'm pre-op. I don't agree that all carbs are created equal.
I waited to add back veggies until 3-4 months post op, mainly because they have hardly any protein and I couldn't fit in anything else besides protein.
Now, after I've had my protein at dinner, I'll eat a few bites of broccoli, cucumber, asparagus, bell peppers, lettuce, spinach or green beans. I completely avoid carrots, corn, peas, other beans besides green beans, and all the others.
Veggies, even the lower carb ones, are not carb or calorie free, so track them and understand their values.

I love spinach, and it's soft so easy to eat earlier out. I also love asparagus, I spray with Pam and roast in the oven at 400, easy and lots of fiber too. The green veggies are usually the low carb ones. Oh, I also love yellow and red bell peppers, the little ones from Costco, roasted same way as the asparagus.
I buy a huge bag from costco each bag comes with 10 or so 8 oz microwave steam ready bags. I steam them add a little salt and garlic pepper or lemon pepper.
It’s about 158 calories 11 carbs, 12 protein
Target also sells edamame beans that are without the shells called mukimame.. I just roast them in a pan with olive oil
