PS through Kaiser

Does anyone have any experience with Kaiser's process?  I asked for and got a referral to PS department - I wanted to see what my options were and see about coverage, and I got an appointment. Or, I thought it was an appointment, but when I called, I was told it's a group class that we have to attend before scheduling an appointment with a surgeon (starting to sound a little like bariatrics)

At least the ball is rolling - maybe it'll get me motivated to start doing more research, because I really really just want my arms and boobs done. I could almost live with my stomach more than my top half.

I know that I need to lose at least another 15 lbs before I technically qualify (since they require my BMI to be under 30). That might be the hardest part of this whole process.

I have NO personal, but when I used to attend the support group in Harbor city quite a few ladies had it done BUT I believe it was only the tummy, not the arms/boobs, unless you need a reduction.

I have Kaiser, Fontana, California.  This has been a really slow process.  I started witha
call to my Primary Care Physician *****ferred me to the "Options Program."  I started
this process back in September 2011.  They scheduled my first class in mid October 2011.
I went to 12 classes (one a week).  Finished the classes January 11th, 2012.  Then, I
started waiting.  I finally got my Nutritionist and Psychologist appointment March 6th and
9th.  Now I wait again.  I was told I would be getting a call to set the appointment with
the surgeon either last week or this week.  I am still waiting.  I am impatient and it is
stressing me out.  I do not see this happening any time soon since have absolutely no
patience.  We lost half of our class before we finished.  People decided they did not
like the process or the idea of having 3/4 of their stomachs removed.  If you add me as
a friend I will keep you informed on how soon I will have surgery.  Many people have told
me they think Kaiser takes too long.  It is what it is, and I will endure.  I live in the Inland
Empire and if you are elsewhere you may be luckier. One of the girls in my class had
already been to a class to have her breasts done.  She said it was only one class and they
told her she had up to a year to follow through. She is all set for after her surgery.
Good luck to you.
