Honestly, I think that postop I will be sticking with the premier protein drinks. Twice as much protein as the Atkins shakes and about the same carb wise means less struggle to get the protein in.
Preop, probably nothing wrong with them, if that's what you like. But if you have to drink four of them to get your 50-60 grams of protein in, postop that may be difficult.

That is their website, or you can get them at Sam's or Costco.
Not saying the Atkins won't work... and it may be good to have a variety of brands on hand so that when you get sick of one you can switch to another. I just know these are more bang for your buck, so to speak.

Atkins are not great shakes. They are full of junk. For 160 calories, you should be getting much more than 15g of protein.
Of those 160 calories, only 60 of those calories are coming from a protein source. The other 100 cal are coming from something else - where it's not sugar, its a bunch of other stuff your body doesnt need right now.
If you can't find anything else, I guess they are ok, but not the best choice for post op.

I like the Atkins shakes but I agree they should have more protein in them. The price is only $5.99 in my grocery store (Shoprite) and even in Walmart. I hear everyone saying the Premier shakes are very good, but where I live there is no Costco or Sam's club I can get too. I don't have a car. I'm in Philadelphia, PA. They are $7.99 for a pack of 4 on the website, so I think I'll order them to try to see if I like them, also I hear Pure Protein shakes are good and my target sells them and so does amazon.com. My taste buds may change, therefore I want variety. Whatever I don't like I'm sure I will give away to someone willing to take it.
I looked at Atkins products at the store yesterday. I think the 'net carbs' it says on
the front of the packages are misleading. If it says 1g Net Carbs, that means your
shake has 15 g protein, and 14 g carbs (you have to look at the back of the label to
see the actual carbs).
My dr office's directive is to find 'double digit protein, single digit carbs'. They had
samples of the Premier Protein and it seemed fine to me (of couse I have a
Costco nearby, though!).
