We take a big biotin capsule, I think it's Nature's made brand. It was a little difficult at first, but I never got choked or had any problem with it going down, and because it's a capsule you could always open it up
We never took zinc. We started with Calcium Carbonate twice a day, Walgreens has a great chewable for this and so does the OsCal brand, we weren't allowed to have gummies until 6 weeks out, but now we just take a Viactive once a day. We also take a Calcium Citrate pill now that we're 6 weeks out.
We took a plain ole flinstones chewable multivitamin until we were 6 weeks out, now I take a women's one a day and hubby takes a mens. We also take a vitamin d supplement that I have to order online from Amazon because I need such a high doseage. We also take sublinguql B12 simply because I don't like the nose spray kind! LOL
Becareful buying a lot of stuff before surgery because what you can easily swallow/chew now, you may not tolerate after surgery. I would recommend getting the smallest bottle you can. The same rule of thumb goes for protein. What you tolerate now you may not then, you may also not like the taste afterwards.
GOOD LUCK!

I take zinc for hair loss. It is a big tablet, and I just broke it up into smaller pieces over the first month out. I have a hard time taking it though. My stomach just doesn't like it, and I have thrown up after taking it several times. It is the only pill that I have this reaction with. I am supposed to take it every 3 days, but just can't bring myself to take it anymore. I never get sick from eating, only with that pill, so I am trying to find a new form of zinc that I can take. I don't want to give it up completely, since zinc helps to metabolize proteins, carbs, and fats, and hair loss is generally caused from lack of protein, so I want to figure out a way to get my zinc in without getting sick.
I also had the multi vitamins in gummy form, and chewable 650mg calcium for the first month too. I even took the liquid iron, but that stuff is nasty so I now take the gel cap form with no problem.

I was told EVERYTHING had to be chewable or liquid and I shouldnt need to worry too much about anything but a multi-vitamin, calcium citrate (carbonate doesn't absorb as well), and a sublingual B-12, all other vitamins were put on hold until my first set of labs at 2 weeks. Also I got all of my medications in either a crushable or liquid form. I am 6 weeks out now and just got the ok to go back on my regular pills. So far so good!
You also want to read labels carefully, for example you shouldn't take your multi vitamin within hours of your calcium or other drugs such as synthroid, as they will in effect cancel each other out.
My doc had me back taking my regular meds the night I was released from the hospital, I did chewable multis for a while then switched to gummies. Calcium citrate chews and b12 sublingual were also in my mix.
Again, read the labels, most of the gummies have no iron and are less complete than the multis.
The research is iffy about hair loss and zinc and biotin. Every doc and nutritionist said it probably won't help but definitely won't hurt if I want to take them.
Good luck!
