Weird question about armpits!

I have the weirdest question ever!  Well, it's weird for ME, anyway!

Does anyone else have super itchy armpits??  Seriously... it's making me CRAZY!

I haven't changed deoderant or soap and my clothes arent too tight under my arms or anything like that.  I also take a Loratadine pill every night before bed (for another issue), and that's not helping AT ALL.
So, just wondering if anyone else has this issue or if I'm just truly insane!

I forgot to ask the doctor when I was there, but it wasn't that bad when I was there, either, so I didn't think about it.  It's been bad for about 3 weeks (my VSG was on 1/19/12), so I have no idea what's triggered this weird thing!

THANKS EVERYONE!!

I had the problem about the same time post op as you, went to a dermatologist and he even did a skin biopsy but didn't come up with anything, I've used all kinds of creams both otc and Rx NOTHING really helped...I was good for about a 6 months and now it's back.  I get a rash/reddish with little bumps, comes and goes then shows up somewhere else.  I even tought it was from the antibiotics they give during surgery and hospital stay but it's been going on way to long.  I have no advice but just wanted to say "you aren't alone!"

I haven't had surgery yet....but before I first found out I was pregnant with my son I had this issue.  I ended up switching deodorants and was fine.  I had been using degree for years and just one day became allergic to it (maybe it was hormones or something) but to this day, if I use degree I break out in hives in my pits.

I started getting itching after surgery too.  My VSG was 11/30/11 and it is on my face.  These bumps come up and they itch like crazy.  They eventually go away, but it itches for hours.  Sometimes it's on my forehead, other times on my cheeks.  Weird, but have no idea why either.  I have not changed any detergents or moisturizers either.  It's becoming less frequest, so I'm hoping it will go away.  The big mystery!

Thanks, everyone!  I still am not sure what it could be, BUT, I did find something interesting on the web while googling "itchy armpits".  haha
Someone asked the question on Yahoo or something and a woman answered with "Are you losing weight?  I found that when I lost weight, my armpits began to itch.  My doctor said it might be because of the skin shrinking and itching from that. When I looked in a mirror, I actually had little stretch marks under my arms!"
So, I, too, looked in the mirror and
sure enough... I DO, TOO!!  So, maybe that's what this is??  Stretchmarked armpits, though?  Ick.  Better than the alternative, though, right?
Anyway, she did say that her itching stopped after about 2 or 3 months, so I'm hoping that's the case here! And for all of you experiencing the same thing!  It really is a PAIN!  I try not to scratch them in public but sometimes you just can't help it!  And I KNOW people look at me like I'm some kind of chimpanzee!  Oh well.. at least I'll be a skinny monkey!!!  hehe

Take care everyone!
