Hair... what do you use?
First, let me say that i know that i cannot stop the hairloss. I have accepted that and in fact have dealt with it before after the birth of my son 5 years ago. its all good, hair grows back. i am almost 3 months post op and just feel like i should be putting something in it.
My question is what are you using right now? I have seen many people talking about special products and shampoos that they get from their stylist (i dont have one). I am totally lost when i go to sally's. Its sad, but i dont necessarily trust the cashiers.
So i would just like to know what you have tried? What you were told to use by your stylist? How do you like it? Have you noticed a difference?
Thank you!

I use the bosley professional strength "revive" shampoo and conditioner. I used the revive during the hair loss and there is also a "defend" in the same brand. Like you said, it will not stop the hair loss but I have found that it kept the hair loss slow and to a minimum and then the "defend" helped to make it come back stronger and thicker. I get it from the hair dresser and I believe on their website you can find out where to get it in your area. The picture below is of the small containers but I get the big containers of it.
Cathy, i had a problem taking multivitamins for the last 2 months. i have tried several different brands, chewable, pills, liquid, gummies. i have spent almost $200 dollars on vitamins but everytime i vomit. I finally found a multi that i dont throw up 1.5 weeks ago and thank the lords! i feel better all around being able to take the vitamins. i am hoping that my body will start to absorb the biotin quickly so i can slow the hair loss. Right now my scalp is dry, my hair is brittle and frizzy :( its a sad state of affairs lol.
I take bioting and use wen hair products- cheapest prices I've found are on Amazon.com. I really haven't noticed hair loss. My stylist says taking the biotin and makig sure to get enough protein will keep it from falling out, but from what I hear, either you are lucky or you are not. even without being sleeved, I really like the wen products. They keep my hair soft, with a lot less frizz.
I used Folicure extra care shampoo to help with regrowth. Nothing stops it, no amount of protein, supplements, vitamins, snake oil so I used a topical shampoo to keep my scalp clean, and only used it every couple of days. The other days I used a Nexxus anti-breakage shampoo and conditioner that my stylist recommended, I found it OTC at WalMart.
All the folicure did was strip my scalp and my hair.
I never took biotin. My stylist told me to not overprocess my hair with a lot of heat or color applications during that time just to help salvage the existing hair.
Eating full fats, making sure you get in good nutrition, a good multi with 100% recommended daily value of iron and zinc are all beneficial, but some of us who followed every rule, did everything "right" still lost tons of hair.
